On the side of being a waitress at the country club, I needed to make some extra dough. I decided to apply at a tanning salon near the place. But, I've never been to a tanning salon in my life! I can tan easily enough during my job. But if they interview me, I don't want to look like a complete idiot, so I'm going to go a few times in the mean time. What shall I do when I first walk in? What do I do once I'm inside the room? Do I strip off all my clothes, and so on? Can someone give me a detailed description of what to do at a tanning salon? I don't want to be embarrassed!

If it turns on itself the bed will start in threee minutes. You just pull the top down over you and lay there. Since your short on cash i wouldnt reccoomend splurging for indoor tanning lotion. Quality indoor tannign lotion runs at about 50 dollars a bottom. I reccomend Drama Queen. If your fair skinned i only reccomened about 7 minutes on the first time if you tan easily go at about ten. It will turn off when your done. If you bring youre own lotion bring it in a purse because it wouldnt be very professional for them to see your bannana boat sunblock peeking out ..
you wont see instant color right away and i wouldnt reccomend getting out during the tanning. Also if possible dont take a shower for 2 hours after you go tanning .' [ AnGiix3BaBii's advice column | Ask AnGiix3BaBii A Question ]
CuTeBlOnDeXo answered Sunday March 6 2005, 10:54 pm: Sign in, talk to the person at the counter, before you go, make sure that you are wearing a swimsuit (preferably bikini for a stomace tan) and bring sunglasses. You might have to wait a while but when they call you, just take off your clothes off(not the swimsuit) and just lay in the tanning thing, make sure that you are not closterfobic(sp?) before you go, and just stay there, they might tell you how long to go in there but dont go for too long, you might want to get out periodicly to check yourself in the mirror to make sure your tan is perfect. I hate to babble on but then you just put back on your clothes when your finised and leave! Good luck, I hope you dont get burned! [ CuTeBlOnDeXo's advice column | Ask CuTeBlOnDeXo A Question ]
surferlil2002 answered Wednesday March 2 2005, 7:57 pm: depends. if you go to one of the spray- on salons, then you take off your clothes and go into a private room. there you shut your eyes and listen to the machine. if you go to the kind where you lie down in the little tanning beds, then go in a bathing suit. Why would you strip off your clothes?
Just go in like any other interview, dress nice and speak clearly. If they ask you what you know about tanning salons and you say you don't know anything, they'll just say "Well, you'll learn." That's what they said when I worked at the library, I know they're different but they are still both jobs.
For heaven's sake, do not strip for them! Have some self respect!
