xASH answered Tuesday March 1 2005, 5:22 pm: You get those cramps only because you're probaly out of shape and after you run for a while those cramps will go away. [ xASH's advice column | Ask xASH A Question ]

To not have this happen anymore, you have to breathe out for a longer time than you breathe in. Breathe in through your nose for 2 counts and breathe out through your mouth for 4 counts. Also if you're concentrating on that, you don't think about cramps. Good luck!
poisonkissesox answered Sunday February 27 2005, 1:15 pm: There are no stretches. You just have to run until you start feeling the pains start. Then walk briskly. Once they go, start running again. If you're having really bad cramps from running you could always go see a doctor, and the PE teacher can't force you to continuously run. Not while you're cramping anyways. Zoinatrobe answered Sunday February 27 2005, 11:32 am: First of all, eat a banana before every run you do.Bananas are magic for energy. To relieve yourself of cramps, place one hand on of hips and stretch over, keeping your back striaght. It is hard to explain, so see this website- [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) and see the stretch named -Stretches triceps, top of shoulders, waist. However, when doing this stretch, instead of having both arms above your head mantain the arm drawn as the left arm in the picture, but with the other arm rest your and on the hips. This stretch is guaranted to releive cramps. Hope I helped,

Karen answered Sunday February 27 2005, 9:11 am: To prevent getting cramps when you run, try drinking water before you run and that will help you. When I used to run, I would get cramps too and I found out that I was breathing wrong like when you're running and I changed the way I breathed and I never got cramps. Just breath through your nose and not through your mouth and that will help. Before you run, try to eat something so you can get some nutrients in your body.

SAMzasis answered Sunday February 27 2005, 4:03 am: Oh man! Haven't you ever heard of the Non-Cramp Stretch? It's easy. First, grab an iron rod, or a crow-bar. You take that, and hit your knee constantly, very hard, for a good ten minutes. After this, hand the iron rod thing, to someone, and sue them. THE END.
ShYbl0nD3 answered Sunday February 27 2005, 12:58 am: sometimes you get cramps because you're not breathing right. It happend to me all the time but now i'm better at it because i breath the correct way. It's hard to explain but you breath kinda deeper if you know what i mean.
