Question Posted Monday February 14 2005, 10:04 pm

I was at my friend's house the other day and we decided to make him pass out. Then i wanted to try it just to see how it felt. So i hyper-venalated myself, held my breath, and let him pick me up with my arms crossed at my chest. Before i knew it i woke up and was on the floor. Everyone was staring at me and i didn't remember anything but it was really cool. I did it about 12 more times. Is there a health risk when you do this? Can it cause serious damage to your brain or anything??

We used to do that to people like on the bus, or when we were bored. Once we thought one of the people like died from it because it took him over an hour to recover when normally it only takes like 5-10 minutes. It was really scary. It can really damage you, and when you're passed out you could be raped, or you could actually die from it. Be careful when you do things like that, it is very fatal, and very damaging.

what the hell are you doing? this can do serious damage to your brain and if you lose enough brain cells, you can DIE! would you put a permanent marker up your nose? this could do just as much damage if you keep doing this. plus, you never know what can happen to you if you dont wake up right away. i know doing some thing dumb can seem fun(ny) or daring sometimes, but stop before you kill yourself!

HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH You are about as stupid as it gets. The only health risk around here from doing that is you! Good thing your not breathing to do that. Here how bout this, just stop breathing in general, your wasting my fresh air.

AKSherma answered Monday February 14 2005, 10:39 pm:
You can cause serious damage to your brain if you keep doing this. THe passing out mechanism is a way for the brain to get more oxygen rich blood to it. THe heart doesn't have to pump against gravity when you're flat on your back, so the brain can get the blood that it needs. However, nerve cells are very sensitive to lack of oxygen and do die quick. That is the reason why CPR is so crucial to be started right away when a person's heart stops. They die in less than 5 minutes when there isn't oxygen.
