jokerzgrl answered Monday February 14 2005, 1:56 pm: Are you eating things with alot of sugar and caffine during the day? You may have to change yoyr diet if it comes down to it. And some people just naturally have insomnia, like my mom, she can go 3 days straight w/o sleeping, I've seen her do it. Or, its just that you're growing up, and your body needs more sleep. Has this just started happening? If so, it may just be puberty taking its course. Also, set your alarm earlier or have someone to wake you up.

Advice1055 answered Sunday February 13 2005, 8:02 pm: Hello there! I had the same problem about a year ago when i was a freshman in high school! OK this is what i did...I would go to bed a half hour earlier than i usually do but i watch TV for a half hour and it gets me sleepy and also stay away from sugar coffee tea ect. before bed. And in the morning what I did, it worked for me I dont know if it will work for you but i set my alarm 1 hour earlier before i get up and i keep hitting the sleep button untill i have to get up and then by the time I have to get up I am all ready and not tired to get ready for the school day!
I hoped I helped! [ Advice1055's advice column | Ask Advice1055 A Question ]
xoPandaBabyxo answered Sunday February 13 2005, 7:40 pm: Heyhey Lynn! Anyway, make yourself sleepy! Drink less caffine (I know, it's hard for me, too, just bear with me!), play sports, run around during the day. Make yourself really sleepy. Sometimes music helps me fall asleep, too. Just turn on your radio and put in a CD. put the music really low but loud enough so you can barely hear it. It'll drift you to sleep. I hope I helped!

BeautifulMadness answered Sunday February 13 2005, 4:15 pm: Hiya,
Are you on the PC a lot before you go to bed? That can often keep you awake, as can eating bananas, cheese, or drinking coffee or tea. Try coming off the computer/not eating or drinking an hour or so earlier that you normally do before going to bed. Try and get to bed for eleven - sleeping for one hour before midnight is supposed to be much better for you than sleeping for two hours after it.
Also, check that your room isn't too hot or cold, or that if you burn incense or eat in there, there aren't any strong smells. If you can't sleep in the light, turn all the lights off and get blackout curtains. If you don't like the dark, then get a little light - you don't have to have it on all night; knowing that you can just reach out and press it at any point when you want to could be reassuring. Try listening to the radio if it seems too quiet. You could also buy a lavender pillow or drink cammomile tea before bed to try and make your sleep deeper. Maybe you could even set your alarm half an hour early so you can still lie in bed and think, 'I don't want to get up!' without making yourself late?
Finally, don't stress that you can't get to sleep - that'll just make things worse. Just lie in bed and relax, because consciously trying to get to sleep will actually make it harder to do so.
Good luck!
Blessed Be,

Karen answered Sunday February 13 2005, 4:11 pm: Start going to bed early, or just read before you lay down. Reading will make you tired, especially at night. If you take a sleeping medicine such as Unisome (just saw this on a comercial), it will help you go to sleep faster. Hope I helped :)

MummuM answered Sunday February 13 2005, 4:08 pm: You could try going to bed a little earlyer. Maybe just lay in bed at 10, listen to some calm music (slow songs and such). Having on music that is relaxing always makes me fall asleep.
