I am thinking about dating this Christian, even though I am not religious. Please dont tell me not to care what his religion is-because I don't. I just want to know other people's opinions on christians. I want to know how they act and how other people view them. Thank you!
Additional info, added Friday February 11 2005, 4:37 pm: Well how YOU think they act. Like do you see them say their christian, and the next day do something not very christian. Stuff like that. ****WELL, CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME PERSONAL EXPERIENCES YOU HAD WITH CHRISTIANS/CHRISTIANTIY. I know all christians are different, but I want some examples. But I try to live for Christ more than i live for the world. But of course I'm human so i'm a sinner and sometimes fall into temptation. But Christians are really good people and will always help you (well some won't because they are hypocrits and dont practice what they preach) but a true christian should be caring and devoted just like he is to Christ. FunnyCide answered Friday February 11 2005, 4:57 pm: I am a Christian, like it or not, I'm still human. I've screwed up many times, but I know that my fate is secured. If you're a Christian, you know (without a doubt!) that when you die, you'll go to heaven. THAT ROCKS! I know different people that behave in different ways. (that are Christians) Some of them are hypocrites, they do the whole "good kid goin' to church" thing, but they do very inappropriate things. I know people who say they're Christians, but don't live the life at all, don't go to church or even own a Bible. But most of the Christians I know try their hardest to live a life for Christ. They are very well behaved, pretty much stay out of trouble, very polite and well mannered, but are still cool cats. If you're dating a Christian, you have less of a risk of getting pregnant. You'll have less of a chance of being pressured into something, less of a chance of getting hurt. Like you said, all Christians are different. Dating this Christian boy would probably be a good idea.

jbdreamer answered Friday February 11 2005, 4:52 pm: I am a christian, and my husband is an athiests. If you can respect each others choices and don't push your beliefs onto one another, you shouldn't have a problem. You can't classify christians by the way they act. It's like asking how do black people act. [ jbdreamer's advice column | Ask jbdreamer A Question ]
BeautifulMadness answered Friday February 11 2005, 4:47 pm: Well...I'm gonna say that all Christian's are different too. However, if this guy is orthodox (i.e. very Christian), he may not believe in sex before marriage, he may pray (bear in mind this is a VERY stereotyped view) or go to church every sunday (meaning you couldn't spend sundays with him)...etc etc etc. The only way you can really find out is by asking him about his faith because, although you're sick of hearing it, EVERY Christian is very different.
Personal experiences I've had with Christians? I'd say the majority of them are very nice people, but some are a little prejudiced (again a VERY stereotyped view, sorry if I offend anyone here). However, I can't see that being any kind of problem unless you are a wiccan or pagan. At school I've had some adversitiy to my religion (wicca) from strict Christians, but that's not their fault - the Bible tells them, 'thou shalt not suffer a witch to live', and 'you shall not practise divination or sorcery' (Exodus and Psalms) and they're just following what they should as a good Christian. Unless he really is very strict, his religion shouldn't affect the relationship.
As a religion they tend to be quite forgiving. Christians are no different to anyone else - many are Christians on pure principle, as many babies are baptised as tradition rather than a desire to carry on the faith, so you'll find them as regular as yourself. I was baptised and have never been to church. It doesn't effect most people.

shake answered Friday February 11 2005, 4:43 pm: LOl, your a racist against the christains. No acutally usually the "Christians" parents are very uptight and always listen to "holy" music. Or are very strict with what their kid can and cannot do. I must say, i cant stand to be around people like that, because i personally am agnostic(I believe in something being up there, but not like the bible tells) since im like that, i cant stand to be around the christains, at least the bible banger christians because of all the jargon they spit out. Anyways, hes a waste unles you really care bout the person. [ shake's advice column | Ask shake A Question ]
rainbowcherrie answered Friday February 11 2005, 4:36 pm: I am a Christian and although I don't act like a normal person, it's not because of my religion. How they act varies on who they are and how into the religion they are, it is hard to sterotype a Christian. It is also hard to say how people view them because again it depends on the person. When it comes down to it, a Christian is just a normal person and should be treated accordingly. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
chrissie9503 answered Friday February 11 2005, 4:35 pm: It all depends if they are very devoted to there religion or if there parents just make them go. I am christian but I dont go to church and I dont practice anymore. I dont see anything wrong with them as long as there not preaching all the time.
