first of all...your very lucky you can stick with this kind of thing. i wish i was that motivated.

i`m working on getting in shape too. SO theres a few junk foods that i ALWAYS eat at home, so i told my mom that i had made a bet with a friend that i could go 2 months without eating those foods..so i asked if she could stop buying them and buy me other things like fruit or jello instead, so i wouldnt be tempted. Also..to reach your goals faster go through catalogs of swimsuits and look at the girls & cut out their bodies and put them places you will see it, so you can remind yourself what you`re working for.

You can snack, but only on the good stuff-veggies and vegetables. In fact if you have 5 small meals instead of 3 huge ones, you have a better chance of curbing your appetite. Backing down on food intake begins with just one bite. As in, leave one bite on the plate when you are done and then two until your portion size is correct. If you are worried about wasting food, put it in the fridge for a snack later.
You are gaining muscle. That's a good thing because it burns calories more efficiently. Drink as much water as you can to help you between meals. Sometimes we are thirsty instead of hungry.
Don't eat standing up. Use a smaller plate. Actually measure out one serving of food with a measuring spoon. Fix your own food as much as possible. And continue to exercise!

Drink more water. Water will fill you up. You aren't going to lose a lot of weight at first because your muscles are toning. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Just so you know-- muscle weighs more than fat does. In otehr words, if you are looking to get buff AND lose weight-- its not going to happen.

As for eating in moderation- it's a very hard thing to do. Try only eating at mealtimes; don't ever snack. When you do eat, make sure your meals are healthy and well-rounded. Don't skip meals.

Maybe try something like a reward system-- if you go a week without snacking (ie, only eating at meals) treat yourself to a movie or buy something small. If you do snack, exersize double that day. Basically, you just need to have a lot of self control.

sohojules26 answered Tuesday February 1 2005, 8:24 am:
Yeah, you really should, and the reason why you may not be losing weight is that when you work out a lot, you get lots of muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat. Try to keep yourself verrry busy, because then its less tempting to eat because you have other things to worry about.
