how tall is too tall??
ok... im 14 and i am 5'10... is that too tall? i am taller than most guys my age and although i have never really had a problem with it this year i do... im sure most girls would kill to be taller but i seriously want to cut my feet off i hate it so much... like i said... i am 14 but i truly look like i am 25... the other night i was havong dinner with my dad and i got his beer... i am sick of older guys hitting on me... and i am sick and tired of being around a guy i like (including my bf) and feeling like this huge mass... i really do WANT to look my age... is there ne way i can get over this?? and if not... there arnt ne special short pills are there??

Ok, I know how you feel, cause I'm 13 and I'm 5'5", and I'm pretty tall for my age. And I, too, feel like I wanna cut off my knees to be shorter, lol! Anyway, I think you can get over it if you really try. I mean, get into some sports where you can excel because of your height. Therefor, Basketball is one of the answers. I mean, you can do good in BBall because of your height. Any bball player would die to be your height. I mean, height is something you enherit. Unless you get knee surgery, you gotta deal and be happy with it. I mean, there are some upsides to it. You'll be good at sports, nobody is ever gonna mess with you, and maybe i'll see you in the WMBA some day! But...if you do, make sure to thank me, Nikki! So...My overall advice to you is to just enjoy it. I mean, height isnt everything, and nobody is perfect. If you need anything, then feel free to leave me something in my inbox ;]

Im 13 and im 5'9''. I used to feel the same way until i realized that this is how i am and if i felt awkward i knew that i would have to get over it because i would always be like this (atleast through puberty) Another way to think of it is that we just had our growth spirts earlier than everyone else and they will eventually catch up. And about the pills (if they are even made) DONT TAKE THEM! You would just be messing up your natural body! Hope i helped.

I am slightly taller than the average girl too (and all my friends are like 5 feet so i feel like a giant)I know how it feels, but remember, tall girls usually look skinnier, and look better in clothes, and have modeling potential. Yea you're tall for you age but i'm the same age as you and the same height. Sorry there are no "short pills" but don't worry in a couple of years the boys will be towering over you and you'll feel short next to them. You just have to be confident in yourself and with your height, that's the only real way to get over it.

There is nothing wrong with been tall i thin you really lucky im on 5ft2 and im 14 my mate is very tall but it looks good for her because shes really slim and pretty

I know it's hard to feel different from everyone else because you are tall, but you are within normal range, as girls often mature earlier than boys and hit their adult height when they are still young (I have the opposite height problem to you, but I haven't grown since I was about 12 or 13). There are no short pills - you just have to get used to the fact that you are tall, and learn to love it. Having older men approach you when you aren't comfortable with that can knock your confidence, but try to stay confident and hold your head high. People who feel they are too tall often end up standing badly and having bad postures, but you want to avoid doing this, as being tall really is very attractive, and you don't want to hide it by slouching.
How you wear your hair can effect quite dramatically how old you look. I found I looked younger when I had shorter hair, but it depends on your face-shape, so ask your hairdressers about getting a cut that stops you looking too old. Having a fringe (bangs) also makes you look younger, as do styles like pigtails or a messy bun. Clothing wise, it's a matter of things to avoid rather than things to go for - just avoid the kind of clothes designed to make teenagers look like grown ups with slogans etc. If guy's approach you, be assertive in telling them to back off, and if they bug you, just tell them that you are too young and aren't interested. There are no short pills that you can take. It is typical for a girl to go through puberty (including growth spurt) before guys do. You may look older at this point in time, but it just means that you're ahead of the curve right now. Some of your friends will eventually catch up to you. YOu should be proud about how tall you are. I know a lot of my female friends would love to be as tall as you.
Older guys are always going to be hitting on younger girls. Probably when all is said and done you may look like a supermodel (think about it all the big supermodels are your height). Although you may look older it doesn't mean that you have to act older. You are who you are and no one can change that. Be proud of who you are and just think how many more people are in awe of you.
Enjoy this time and it will get better as your friends start to grow more too. Have fun.
