Shaving my legs.

Question Posted Wednesday January 26 2005, 11:36 pm

Hey, this is mainly a question for girls. Alright, I have shaving gel, shaving cream, everything and everything to make shaving easier..and my legs smoother. EVERYtime I shave, which is usually during my shower, the day after..I have razor burn. It is..disgusting. Little red dots, and hairs..are already all over my pale legs. Is there ANYTHING I can do to prevent this? After I use a shaver three times, I have to get a new blade..is this normal? Becase..otherwise, the third time I use it, my legs get cut everywhere, and bleed. It suckssss. Help me, please. :/ Thankss.

I've never got razor burn so i dunno how it feels :(.. but get a razor for sensitive skin, and put lotion on your legs after you shave..hope it helped, *CrystaL Maureen*

Well, you could be allergic to the shaving
cream(s) that you use. You could also have sensitive skin on your legs. Try switching the type of razor and cream(s) you use. See if that helps at all. Or you could try one of those electric shavers. It's harder to cut yourself that way and there's no cream needed. Plus it'd probably be easier on your skin then a razor blade. Good Luck!!

Hmmm...well what kind of razor do you use? I love the Venus ones, they're expensive but way worth it. Also, make sure you're using a good breand of shaving gel, I like the Bath and BOdy Works kind. Finally, be gentle, and put on lots of lotion or body oil afterwards. If you have razor bump you need to get rid of, get a good salt scrub or scrubbing brush. Hope I helped!

Wow you can use a shaver three times? That might be part of the problem right there. I can barely use one twice. Unless you are shaving every other day or something, get a new shaver every time if you can afford it. Try switching shavers and/or cream. There are some special gels out there for people with sensitive skin that works fairly well. I have had really good luck with the shaving gel. You will want to put some lotion or other moisterizer on after you shave.

Well the main cause of razor burn is because you have goosebumps on your legs while you shave. Make sure your nice and warm in the shower so u dont get goosebumps.

luv always,~*Missy*~

a bit of a dilema there... do you use moisturiser? because usually that happens because youre skin is too rough. try using moisturiser twice a day and see how you go. also, make sure the raser is a really good one. cheap ones give rashes to those with sensitive skin!

It could be the ravor your useing, try getting "Venus" its a razor and it works really well and it doesnt hurt whenever you shave either and doesnt leave razon burns, and as for the shaveing cream if you get the "Venus razor" it comes with 2 blades and some shaveing cream as well for about 6 dollars or so if not 6 dollars then about 10, but its worth it..well i hope this helps!-Nikki

Get razors with the strip of lotion stuff built in, and it shouldn't hurt as bad.
