Hey ok well theres this dance comeing up and i really want to ask a friend of mine if he wants to go to it with me but, i cant dance, and i mean i dunno if he is a good dancer but even if he isnt i dotn want to make a fool out of myself. Also, i dunno, maybe it would be awkward if i asked him toit and he said no...cuz we are really good friends, i just want to go with him lol as friends.

hmm.....this question sounds very familar. I can understand what you're going through. I am sometimes scared to ask girls to dances because either
A) we're really good friends and don't want to make it awkward or
B)fear of getting rejected (which everyone is scared of)
B will always come up no matter what that's just a matter of getting over it and "gathering up your guts". I remember when I asked this one girl to a dance my heart was pounding like it was coming out of my chest and when i finally said it, yes i was shcked but i felt so good to finally get it out. i remember once when i didn't ask and i felt so bad because all that pressure that was worked up never got released.
If I were you i would just ask him. if you guys really are good friends then i'm sure he would like to go. and if u can't dance...well...who can? lol. trust me most any guy wouldn't mind sitting down and talking rather than dancing. and if ur afraid it'll be awkward just make sure when you ask him that you say that you wanna go just as friends. that way everything will be understood and i'm sure he'll say yes.

1st off-no one "can't dance"-you don't have to be a professional hiphop dancer or something to dance at a school dance- the purpose is just to have fun, so just do that and don't worry about how you look, just don't go TOO crazy:) About your friend, ya most likely it'll be awkward when you ask him but at least you've got the courage to ask & hopefully he'll appreciate that! just tell him you want to go as friends and that's all. have fun!:)

why don't you just ask him and if he says yes, make a joke out of how you can't dance. like :*laugh* well, i can't fast dance at all so no fast dances
Slow dancing is easy, just follow the guys lead. So stick to just slow dancing. Hope i helped!

who cares if you can dance or not? that doesnt or shouldnt matter and just ask the guy like hey who are you going to the dance with? if he says no one say wanna go as friends? it might work i've never tried it cuz im really nervous bout asking guys out dont know why but hope it helped

Well there's nothing wrong with being friends with someone and asking them to a dance. Let him know that you need someone cool to go with so you won't be bored. Now if it's more than friends you need to handle that issue as well, but if it's just friends than make him clear of that so there is no tension between you two.

Dont be shy Girl! lol If hes your friend then he wont mind if you ask him even if he says no you'll still be friends and it would be pretty stupid if he got mad or sumthing.....And for the dancing situation dont worry about it....just go out and have a gr8 time who cares what you look like dancing bcuz im sure that there are ppl alot worse then you are....slow dancing is easy though you really dont need any talent.

Just randomly ask him if he wants to go to the dance. If he says yes then you could ask him if he knows how to dance, if he does ask him if he could teach you.
If he sayd no, just go with some of your other friends.

Ok this is what I would do, get a group of friends together and put on some music and dance have them teach you stuff, it might sound stupid but good friends wiould understand. Im sure if you said to him do u wanna go to the dance with me as a friend he will understand. And who knows maybe there will be a supris kiss at the end of the night if u like him and he likes u.
