ok so i was best friends with my neighbor steve from first grade until about sixth when he moved to a different neighborhood. during his move and after, we kind of grew apart and now i want to ask him to this big dance my school is throwing in may and i want to be his friend again because he's moving back into my neighborhood. i never see him in school and we're both in the eighth grade. how can i start talking to him again and get to know him enough again by late in may? please help me!

If you were best friends before it shouldnt be that hard to rekindle your friendship. Make sure that all you really want is friendship though, otherwise things will get messed up.

send him a white a carnation. in your note give him your number and tell him to call you so you can talk to him. find out where some of his classes are, so that you can meet up with him and talk to him. maybe make plans to do soemthing over a weekend or something. or just see if he is even interested in being freinds again.. and if he is moving back into your neighborhood, cant you talk to him then?

well if he's coming back into your neighborhood, then can you talk to him then? if he wouldn't be coming back soon enough then start talking more just through email or whatever, however you've been keeping in touch a little. let him know you still wanna be close to him and at least be his friend.

Find out where he lives and stop bye and say hello. Have you seen him since he moved back? Start to talk to him more and let him know that you still want to be friends. If you want to send him a carnation, you can. I think its a nice way of telling him you want to be friends again. Hope my advice helps!

This can be awkward. I know exactly where you're coming from..definitely a white one..and just talk to him in the halls..try to beat around the bush on how your getting him a flower, call him. I'm sure if you were neighbors your family and his family can hook up, and naturally you 2 being the same age would hang out together. Once you guys are good enough friends, everything will workout fine. Remember to just be yourself!

No. It wouldn't be tacky at all to send him a carnation. Then maybe you could start talking because you sent him a flower. Guys like it when the girl makes the first move. Just tell him that you missed the old times and you want to catch up on somethings, because you missed having him there. I'm sure he missed having you as a friend too. Then once you guys become close again, bring up the dance thing. Hope all goes well.
