Crysta-Ann answered Wednesday January 12 2005, 8:49 am: If you just started and are a virgin, use pads first definitly. But, if you aren't a virgin, tampons probably wouldn't bother you. If you really want to use tampons, buy small ones and put them in slowly to get use to the feeling, if you are a virgin. Talk to your mom about it if you can, it may be embarrasing, but she can probably help you. Also, if you feel more comfertable talk to your freinds about it. Your period will normslly last three-five days, though, mine has always run about a week. Some girls start off hard, anmd after a few months get into a regular cycle. So, don't be afraid if you aren't regular for a while, it'll be ok. Hope I could help! [ Crysta-Ann's advice column | Ask Crysta-Ann A Question ]

DrummeR4LifE answered Wednesday January 12 2005, 12:21 am: Is it you absolute first time? Then i would start with pads first. On Monday? well... you can either skip a day to get used to it or bring a few pads in ur purse, locker...ect.
It usually last up to 7-9 days (depending on how heavy it is)... and it comes back about every month... (between 36 days i think is normal, but your first few years aren't that normal so just keep track and you'll flow with it) to keep track maybe mark on the calendar.

xokristabelle answered Tuesday January 11 2005, 11:30 pm: Use pads your first couple of times. It'll last about 3 days. Just in case your pads leak, wear dark or old underwear that you don't care about. Also, just so you know, cold water works best for washing the stains out. It comes about every month, sometimes sooner, sometimes later, so keep a bag with supplies in your backpack or locker. If all else fails use TP but make sure it's secure. angel411 answered Tuesday January 11 2005, 11:18 pm: Keep pads around at all times in case you get it. It won't be a normal cycle for a long time so there is no way to predict when it will come back. Start with pads, and ease into tampons later on. ♥ [ angel411's advice column | Ask angel411 A Question ]
AdvicebyCali answered Tuesday January 11 2005, 11:02 pm: When i got my period, I started off with pads (Which is what mostly everyone does when they first get it). I suggest you keep using pads until you get your period 3 or 4 times. Also, when you first get your period, you might not get it again for another 4 months or so. Just be prepared and have pads on hand. [ AdvicebyCali's advice column | Ask AdvicebyCali A Question ]
KaTiE_LyNn answered Tuesday January 11 2005, 10:58 pm: if youre not comfortable sticking something up there, use pads. it comes back in approimately 28 days (4 weeks). no worries. relax, every girl goes through it.
