alright, my friend is gettin really paranoid. he keeps thinkin that there might be "side effects" from masturbation. he's 15 and he says he's like addicted to bangin himself. so are there any "side effects" from too much masturbation? if so, what are they?
redlion145 answered Saturday January 15 2005, 11:40 pm: Nope, no side effects. And it is perfectly healthy, most males reach sexual maturity at 14-16, so they need to have sex, or at least feel like they are having sex. As an after thought, he could get an increased need for sex, but thats about it.
sami! answered Thursday January 13 2005, 8:11 pm: no there isn't and if he is really paranoid it is probably sick of doing it himself and wants sum1 to do it for him!! or it could be because he needs it ALL the time and if he doesn't then it could make him crabby!! so yeai hope that helped!! sincerly *sami* [ sami!'s advice column | Ask sami! kristen22 answered Wednesday January 12 2005, 1:22 am: Actually yea there are side effect of doin it toooo much. here are the side effects....
Thinning hair / Hair Loss
Soft / Weak Erection
Fatigue. Feeling tired all the time
Lower back pain
Stress / Anxiety
Frequent masturbation stimulates the nervous functions excessively, resulting in the over production of sex hormones such as acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin. Abundant and unusually amount of these hormones can cause the brain and adrenal glands to perform excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion and turn the brain and body functions to be extremely sympathetic. In other words, there is a big change of body chemistry when one excessively pratices masturbation. [ kristen22's advice column | Ask kristen22 A Question ]
chaos answered Tuesday January 11 2005, 10:57 pm: Yeah there aren't any. And by the way the smart butt three or four answers down about the "curved dong" is seriously misinformed. There is nothing wrong or bad about a sloping glans. Everybody is a little different. [ chaos's advice column | Ask chaos A Question ]
It's possible to be addicted to sex, but I seriously doubt that anyone would try to apply that sort of criteria to a 15 year old. I mean, at 15, several males I know admitted to masturbating 2 or 3 times a day, and even the females I knew admitted to masturbating nearly every day. I know I was. :)
He doesn't have to worry about it being bad for him unless it's a) interfering with his life - like, he feels the urge so strongly that he has to ask to leave class to "go to the bathroom" to masturbate b) causing injury to his penis. I've never heard of males injuring their penis, but I have heard of women rubbing themselves raw, so I suppose it's possible for men too. (and honestly, using the inside of your wrist, and/or lube, should solve that)
Tell him to relax, masturbation is a totally normal part of human sexuality. Ask him what side affects he thinks there might be, and we can shoot them all down. :) [ dreamingkat's advice column | Ask dreamingkat A Question ]
Shelbyjune answered Tuesday January 11 2005, 10:30 pm: No side effects in the sense that you mean. However, he might be careful about possible infection -- it does happen sometimes. Otherwise, believe it or not, at 15, it's a phase that he'll progress out of. Tell him to relax, paranoia is only going to make it worse. [ Shelbyjune's advice column | Ask Shelbyjune A Question ]
hitler_the_goat answered Tuesday January 11 2005, 9:35 pm: no, besides a curved dong, there really aren't any, except the desire to do it more, and the desire to kill and rape every living thing in a four block radius.
