angel411 answered Wednesday January 5 2005, 8:45 pm: 5'9" and 127 pounds is a little on the light side, but not unheard of. If she eats only one thing a day, it could be due to her bf but if it keeps up then she might be considered anorexic. Anorexia is a mental disease as well, with a distorted body image. Talk to her and ask her why she doesn't eat. Help her get through her breakup and if she thinks she is fat reassure her she's not. If this doesn't work tell a trusted adult. ♥ [ angel411's advice column | Ask angel411 A Question ]

bAhAmAmA0250 answered Wednesday January 5 2005, 7:31 pm: I dont know if it would do anything but maybe you could get her x to talk to her about it. Just be there with her thru this. She would be distant from alot of people to if you are really worried tell her parents because you can die from that dont talk to her about weight or being fat or anything-trix [ bAhAmAmA0250's advice column | Ask bAhAmAmA0250 A Question ]

Hope I helped!

zapreth answered Wednesday January 5 2005, 6:21 pm: No, that's not anorexia, it is simple depression. People handle depression differently. Some eat too much, some can't eat, some sleep too much, some can hardly close their eyes. As she starts getting over the break up things should improve. Just be there for her, and try not to worry too much. An anorexic is obsessed with body image, not really the food issue. They see themselves as huge and will do anything to loose the weight. An anorexic wouldn't force herself to eat even one meal a day. She would be happy that she felt no need for food and try to hide the fact that she is not eating at all. It is a self perception illness that can be complecated by depression, but I don't think your friend is having this problem from just the little you've said. Good luck. Hope your friend feels better soon. [ zapreth's advice column | Ask zapreth A Question ]
