Don't throw a temper tantrum because then you will never get what you want because they will think you're too immature. Talk to them in a calm reasonable manner.. good luck. because everyone needs to get stuff every once in a while!!!

jesuschick answered Sunday January 2 2005, 4:54 pm: That's your parents money, not yours. So they have a right to spend it the way they want to;after all they did work for it most likely. If you have your necessitites (and by this I don't mean the new Underoath CD or w/e kind of music you like; I mean clothes, food, shelter...etc.)then you shouldn't be upset. It would help if I knew how old you are, because if you're over 14 and your complaining about this then you need to grow up and get a job. My parents don't give me any money at all for extra spending and I get by just fine working at a local music store!! [ jesuschick's advice column | Ask jesuschick A Question ]
crazybrunet09 answered Sunday January 2 2005, 4:40 pm: i know exactly how you feel. but the hardest people to be honest with and point out that they are wrong is your parents- so i know this is going to sound extremly hard- but talk to them! just say you would like an allowance or something- and they'll think you are being really mature. good luck! Karen answered Sunday January 2 2005, 4:39 pm: Just talk to your parents and tell them how you feel. If you're old enough, you can get a job. Just be happy with what you have. Hope I helped :)

FrEe2bMe answered Sunday January 2 2005, 4:35 pm: Get a job? I know it may seem like your parents don't buy things for you, but you are just probably not taking into consideration the things they do buy for you. I know as we grow up we want more and more, and it seems like we get less and less of what we really want, but a lot of times parents can't afford to give us everything we want and they are also trying to enstill values in us. Be appreciative of what you do have and get. Liek the basics: Tv,Movies,Clothes,Shoes,Stereo,Shampoo,FOOD,etc.
If you want things to change, maturally ask your parents if you can start working more around the house in exchange for more things. Do some chores. Or, if they still say no, get yourself a job. Even something as simple as babysitting can make a difference. I bet your parents are just trying to teach you the value of money. :) [ FrEe2bMe's advice column | Ask FrEe2bMe A Question ]
