this is gross, sorry

Question Posted Sunday January 2 2005, 3:07 am

okay i know this is nasty- but you know how when you work out, etc, sweating makes you loose calories or w/e? Well just say you work out for a long long time, and sweat alot, and you don't get home for awhile and so you cant take a shower and wash the sweat off of your body, so the sweat like sinks back into you kinda or it dries up or w/e.. ew i know gross, but does that mean you dont loose any weight cause the sweat just went back into ur body?? [gross i know]

Actually, sweating doesn't make you lose fat or body weight - but it DOES make you lose alot of water! Sweat is basically water from your body mixing with the glands it comes out from.

Since we're supposed to have a good amount of water in our bodies to be healthy, the amount you sweat has nothing to do with how much weight you lose, it just can be used to see how much strain you're putting on your body. The more breathless you get, the better the indicator that you're getting a better work out.

The best thing to do after a workout when you sweat a lot is to drink a ton of water, because your body needs it after losing so much. Showers are only needed if you like to smell good and have clean pores :)

Actually, no, sweat doesn't make you loose calories, it cools you down, and heat makes you loose calories. And sweat doesn't go back into your body, it just kinda falls off. But if you really want to loose weight, this isn't the best way to do it=)Get back to me if you really wanna know how to loose weight
