guy problems
Ok, my best friend is a guy. I heard from my friend that he has a girlfriend, but he told me he doesn't. I don't know who to believe, and I really wanna believe the guy because I really like him. Let's call him...*Jake* and let's call the girl...*Mary*. So Mary, Jake, and I are all best friends. Mary has been lying to me a lot lately. She's also been trying to steal my guys. Jake and I hang out all the time, and he and I always tell each other "I love you Jake!" and "I love you...*Anne*!" but we both know we're joking. And we're like "wow, you're so hot tonight" and all these random things as if we were going out, but we're not. He and I constantly flirt. When my friends ask him why they won't ask me out (i don't ask them to do this!!) he says he and I are just like the bestbestbestbestbestbest friends in the universe. I know that's true, (the best... friends part) but I don't know how to get it out of him whether he really does like me or not. What should I do? We have all these inside jokes about "loving each other" and "last night was great" (like i said...inside joke...i've never done it or anything) and all these other things. We always give each other hugs and sit on each others laps and I really want to be an item. We will go to the same school next year, but we don't now. WHAT SHOULD I DO????? Please help I rate! And sorry about the length.

i think that you should talk to him about whether he likes you or not. if he's your best friend, i'm sure he'll be honest with you. so just talk to him about it and tell him that you NEED him to be honest....and if he says he does...well, there ya go. then you can talk to him about maybe getting into a relationship.

Don't appologize for the length'cause it's very helpful . You need to talk to him about your feelings and let him know how you feel about the jokes . It sounds to me as if the jokes are starting to confuse you and you really like him but these jokes you're wondering if they're how he really feels . Well you have to ask him how he feels to find out the truth . So do it and let him know that regardless how you feel, that you'll be there for him when he needs you . That's what friends do, and stay loyal to him if he doesn't because that's what friends do . You won't regret it at all . Hope I was some help and have a nice day .

Talk to him about him, whether it's through email or AIM or face to face. Whatever. Just do it, and find out what he really thinks. And don't worry if it doesn't work out, be thankful for your friendship like it is. Good luck!

Here's what I think is happening based on what you said. *Mary* is telling you *Jake* has a girlfriend that way you do not go after him. Once *Mary* realizes you have no interest in him anymore, *Mary* will go after *Jake*, and maybe she'll even pull an excuse like "Oh, he and his girlfriend broke up". Don't let *Mary* get in the way of the guy you like, it's obvious with what you said that she's jealous and wants him too! So go for him! Hope this helped :)

well if you really really truly like this guy, then just come out and say it. since you guys are bestfriends.. well boyfriend and girlfriend would make you guys even closer, considering that if you go out with someone, they are like your bestfriend because you can tell them anything. just tell him. the worst thing he could say is that he doesnt like you like that, but dont be heartbroken. you guys could still be the best of friends
