fat ~~maybe eating disorder

Question Posted Monday December 13 2004, 8:00 pm

i feel fat. like everyone tells me that i am skinny. i am 5'6" and 108 lbs. I know i am not really overweight, but i have tons of fat. i allways feel self consious, and i have noticed myself getting more and more concerned about how i look. i am afraid i might develope an eating disorder, or just become depressed about it. that is like all i ever think about anymore. help

whoa baby.. 5'8'' & 108?! honey -- if anything, you`re underweight. If you need reassurance (sp.?) , look at the facts .. the average american woman is 5'4'' and a size 14 in womens. Now do you feel fat? Hope i helped ! Need anything else leave it in my inbox!

that's totally normal.. i'm like below the average weight and i still freak out about it. (no i dont have a disorder)... it's just you're getting older and adapting to the world where looks are basically everything.. aka.. being a teen lol. you shouldn't worry about it way too much because you can develop un healthy habits. if you're really concerned about that fat then turn it into muscle. just remember that you are really pretty (everyone is) and you're fine the way you are. oh.. and food=friend lol.

holy shit! you are definatly NOT fat!! your just tall for a girl and thats normal for a girl of that height to weigh like that, usually its more! maybe you just realized if you eat alot, that you think your getting fat but really your not, you probably just eat alot but in small portions throughout the day. thats what i do i'm 5'2 and i weigh 103 pounds. its normal for teenagers

hun, you aren't fat. You seem to be perfect. You have nothing to worry about, you're thin. be happy you're not sitting in a wheel chair, and be happy you aren't like, 200 lbs. Don't worry about it, and I'll admit I'm the same wat. I'm an inch taller than you, and I don't weight much more. And people tell me I'm really skinny. Just enjoy being you, and you're not fat. Trust me.

i know how you feel. I went through the same thing and still am. But i am getting over it slowly. Dont' stop eating it will just make you fatter, just try exercising because the fat that you think is there will turn into muscle! You become healthy and feel better about yourself! win win situation. last bit of advice dont'ever start to cut yourself because you feel depressed...it doesn't help one bit because they are a cutter and have an eating disorder. anywayz

love sarah

I'm glad you realize what you're thinking can turn into something serious. The best thing for you to do right now is find someone to let your feelings out to. It could be a best friend, a parent, a school guidance counselor. It helps to talk about what's going on. It's a really good thing to catch the symptoms early, so you're right for writing this question. =)
