Dont be so nervous! Ok if your on a team right now, the first thing i would do is have a before game ritual to calm you down. Read a book, listen to some music, do something relaxing so you dont get worked up. When you dont have games or late practices go to the Y or a youth center with a coupe friends to go shoot around, play a little 2 on 2 or something like that. In the summers go to a couple local camps if you can, most of the time theres summer leauges at local colleges and at your school, join one. They cost a lil bit of cash, but you prolly knew that cuz basketball is an expencive sport, lol. Good luck, and dont get so nervous!

Of course the thing to do would be practice. But it's more than that, you really gotta learn to love the sport, I've played since I was 4, and basketball is probably one of the best sports out there. Learn to appriciate the game, if you're really determined practice EVERY chance you have spare time. When you're out on the court you NEED to feel confident, not OVER confident, but confident enough to where you lose some of the nervous feelings. They'll go away soon enough, you just gotta practice at the game. If you want it bad enough, you'll get better. Practicing will gain you confidence. And if you miss a few shots, or get frustrated, try not to let it discourage you, it happens to the best of players. Also, try taking some summer camps, or winter camps for ball handling skills. Depending on where you live, a good one for the summer would be the Don Eddy basketball camp. I hope you stick w/ it, basketball is A GREAT sport.. good luck

Practice shooting around and dribbing between obstacles and ball handling a LOT. Whenever you have free time. It doesnt have to be really structured or strenuous, but if you practive 10 minutes every day, you'll just be that much better. I could write a book on basketball, but I'll just say one more thing. As for the nervous thing, that's totally good. I really think being nervous will make you play better.

Practice shooting at a basketball court with a friend! Do some lay ups, foul shots, passes, etc.! You just have low confidence in playing! Just keep on practicing and you won't be nervous any more! Hope I helped :)

get a friend to shoot around with you after school. bend your knees, have eye contact, have your elbows in line with your knees when you shoot and follow through. the more you practice the better the confidence. good luck & hope i helped!
