keeping my hair straight

Question Posted Friday November 19 2004, 6:19 pm

I have straight hair (cuz i blow dry it straight) and its about medium length (not quite to the middle of my back). In the front it's angled and it starts just below my chin. I wash my hair every morning and blow dry it straight, but then after a while it starts getting dented in the front where its angled, i guess from putting it behind my ears. But even if i dont put it behind my ears, it still won't stay straight all day. Even if i straighten it that still wont work. How does everyone else get their hair to stay perfectly straight and frizz-free all day? (i especially need help with the front angles of my hair) Any ideas?

Additional info, added Friday November 19 2004, 6:42 pm:
BTW my hair is already really thin and i dont want it to be too flat or weighed down.

there are a lot of products that can help u. try a de-frizz shampoo. a popular shampoo is frizz-ease by john freedia (i think thats what his name is). i have really frizzy hair i used that and it worked. good luck!!

sorry to break it to ya, but some people just dont have the hair to stay straight all the time, some hair just WONT do it. but what i do with my hair is a use a chi straightener which works really well and to keep frizzes out i use an antifrizz conditioner when my hair is towel dry (NEVER EVER straighten/curl ur hair when its wet, cause youre totally frying your hair and boiling the water off of it, literally) and then i put in hair serum after i straighten it which keeps it shiney and straight and all pretty and stuff

Try flatening fluid, if there's a Beauty supply store near you, you could try there. Or ask your hairdresser. Maybe spraying hairspray on a comb and brushing it into your hair. Hope I helped! And may your days of dented hair be over!

lots of flat ironing..iron it out like theres no tomorrow. then spray some hairspray on a comb and comb thru your hair. this helps with the frizz and gets the hairspray on all the strands to keep it straight. carry a comb and a small bottle of hairspray with you so you can keep your frizzies down during the day.
hope i helped

What I do Is blow dry it just like dry it then I use a straightner that I got at Target for 19$ i think and i love it! it works really good! and my hair has that kinky thingy too in my hair and it makes it go away for a couple of hours but if you want it to go away longer use Mouse' (idk how to spell that lol) and they straightner has a golden flat iron part and dot use a silver one [you can use them but you have to heat it up for like twice the time compared to a gold platted one] and then when you are done straightneing alppy a quarter size drop in your hand of it and smooth it down your hair...*rate me* i hope I helped!

If you put a little bit of gel or mousse in your hair when its wet, then use a blow dryer and a straight brush to dry it, it will stay straight all day =)
Hope i helped

Hey there. Well, I can totally relate. My hair is naturally really curly/wavy and sometimes when I blow dry and or straighten it, I get crinkles. My friends use to even call me Frizzy Ruffles. Haa. But anyways, if found this mwethod to be effecive.
-Wait until your hair is damp (not sopping wet) then add KIWI BLOW SERUM +follow on bottle directors for applicatio+ (Available at Ulta, Sally Beusty Supply, and different hair salons -Abt: $10 per large bottle-and blow dry it in sections rather than all at once. Once hair is BONE dry, straighten it but before doing so spray your straightener AND hair with a light coating of Biolage's Thermal Active Setting Spray (Abt $15 per large bottle available at same stores as Kiwi) and finish styling you hair. Upon completion of that, again spray a light coating of thermal active setting spray for one last time. Make sure to spray the area that you want to stay straight and frizz free the most. If you do this at the night time...repeat these same step just not for as long. Your hair should look fantastic! :)

Your probably straightening it too fast. When you stratighten the front try taking extra time to straighten it. See if that works! But really its always gonna have a dent in your hair..no matter what. its not like anyone will be like "omg u have a dent..eww" oh and get biosilk!****BIOSILK TAKES AWAY THE FRIZZ IN YOUR HAIR, ITS KINDA EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT. YOU CAN GET IT AT SALLYS BEAUTY SUPPLY OR ASK A SALON IF THEY HAVE IT!!
