The dictionary states the following:
A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.
However I firmly believe that love is something more than whats described there. I think its where you cant stop thinking about someone and when you do, you have a huge smile on your face. The time you spend with them you wish would never end. Its As if you could freeze time....you would. Never wanting it to end. When you sit in their arms and you feel safe, tranquil, happy, protected. When things get you down, you just think about them and suddenly things feel a little better. The feeling that if you dont see them then you feel as if your day just isnt going to be a good one. Where if you see them talking with another person of the same gender you develope just a hunt of jealousy (or more...) There is much more I could add.
This is just what I think. Some peoples perspective on it may differ but I feel I have provided you with a better answer than the rest. So if these feelings apply to you and your guy...then perchance your in love.

OMG, that must be the hardest question ever to answer... but I think that if being around him always makes you happy, and you can't stand it when you're not with him, and you think about him all the time, and just the thought of him makes you smile, and he gives you butterflies, and if you would do absolutely anything for him, then I would say that you're in love. Don't worry... you'll know you're in love. You'll just have this feeling. Hope I helped!

Hun, I can't explain it. All you can do is feel it. THats all there is to it! YOu're just gonna have to wait and see. YOu may deny the feeling but deep down inside you'll know whether or not your IN love with a boy!

like everyone says, you'll know. i know that's not a very informative answer, but it's true. when you're in love, you can't imagine you're life without that person, and you would be willing to do anything and everything for that person. you get this feeling in the pit of your stomach when you first realize, and you know that your life woudn't be the same without that person. if the love is reciprical, it's the greatest feeling in the world. it's not just about liking that person a whole lot, but it's about being compatible with that person on a whole different level than with anyone else. and like i said, you'll know. i hope this helped! :O)

When your in love you'll just know...its really difficult to explain becuz its supposed to be about how much you like that one person. Its like the feeling you get when you know that that person likes you for the real you and you get butterflies in your stomach and all of that good stuff.

If you're in love, you know you're in love. This is just my opinion, but i think love is wanting to be with someone dispite their flaws. Once you get past the "they're perfect" phase, and you still get a huge smile when you think about them - that's love.
