i get depressed like really easly.. like today at school i was really hyper and happy and all that but now im really up set and want to cry over nothing. i just randomly melt down.. is there anyway to stop this or is there a reason im like this?
KathlEenaTrOckdOtcOm answered Thursday November 11 2004, 9:45 pm: Well I am no doctor so I can't diagnose you with anything, but to me it sounds like you could be bipolar or you could just be depressed (which is supposedly some chemical embalance in the brain) and you can get medicine for that... I have my ups and downs sometimes, and I go talk to a counselor every two weeks. I feel like it helps sometimes, but I also take medicine... I think that you should tell your parents they are you think you are depressed and see if you can get help... You might think its stupid right now but you are never gonna solve anything until you actually put forth some effort... [ KathlEenaTrOckdOtcOm's advice column | Ask KathlEenaTrOckdOtcOm A Question ]
bumdinger27 answered Thursday November 11 2004, 9:25 pm: Yea I am almost positive most girls go through it! I am turning 18 soon, and I always go through it. One moment I will be so happy and the next I will be in tears over some dumb comment. Basically you have two options you can go on antidepressants, which do work you just have to find the right one or you can do an activity that can help you with this. I was on antidepressants and they did work but I didn't like how I was gaining weight so I stopped. So now to help myself out with these crazy emotional swings I goto the gym or I take time and write in a note book all my thoughts randomly, it helps clear your mind. You could take yoga or pilates, or even boxing getting any anger out. Anything that you are interested in you can take your emotions out into it. Hope it helps! ICE11BLUE answered Thursday November 11 2004, 9:12 pm: Those are just normal teen emotions I'm sure. They are there for the whole time you're a teenager, those real sudden mood swings. So many changes all the time and stuff. Being a teenager is crazy. I used to go through those emotions too, really high highs and really low lows. The important thing is how you deal with it. If you do not deal with it well, and it is serious then talking to someone would be good. I hope the ocean waves calm and you can breathe easy again. Do yoga, meditate, find your chi. Mandee answered Thursday November 11 2004, 7:38 pm: Well sweetie, you are not alone. There is a lot of people out there with the same problem. And there could be many reasons as to why you are like this, but mainly it has to do with your mind. If you want to go to the doctor and see what's wrong with you and get medication you can do that. But the truth is, I don't know that much about it. I do think, however, that there is a way to tame this on your own. I once read that if you give yourself 30 minutes each day to calm down and think about everything, chances are you won't have so much on your mind. It's probably because you have a lot going on, and tiny things make you cry even though they don't seem like such a big deal. I get stressed out so much, and because I don't have much time to think about things I hide it by smiling that way no one notices. But I don't suggest you do that, that's really unhealthy and all your problems build up inside of you. So you aren't solving anything. Life is so stressful! (lol) But if you take walks or listen to music and just think it will help. There are many ways to calm down. The list goes on for ever. I heard that breathing helps, some massage techniques and so forth. So if you're interested, look it up or maybe they would have a book on it or something. But as I said, I don't know too much about that. You'll be okay though, just try to keep an open mind and don't get yourself worked up. If you have a lot going on for you, try to calm down and relax. Thinking that you're in some place with someone you want to be helps. Much luck, sweetie!

PuReLuVeR143 answered Thursday November 11 2004, 6:12 pm: Hey..Im really sorry for that. I know how that feels and it SUCKS..But the thing is, I dunno if you ever read alot of other ppls questions on here, but ALOT of them have to do with the exact same thing your going through. EVERYONE gets depressed sometime in their life, especially teenagers..Its kinda not normal if a teenager never expiriences getting depresed..Im sure you know all that. If this has been happening for ALONG TIME, then I think that maybe you should talk to a school councilor cause they really help.atleast they helped me when i needed some1 to help me figure out why i was depresed for no reason..if u havent been feeling like this for a long time, then i really think its like a lil stage thing thatll last maybe like 2 weeks..i hope this helped good luck
