i took this test on the internet because i have always thought i had add. i've never told anyone this b4 though so i was a little scared when i was takeing the test. im only 13 years old and it said if u chose 8 or more out of 20 of the questions then u are highly too have add. well i got 10/20 and i dont know if i should tell my mom what should i do?
Michelley answered Saturday November 6 2004, 12:41 pm: Yah...you should def. tell your mom...but you might not wanna be like "I took a test online and it said I might have ADD" You should probably be like, "Mom, I've been having a hard time concentrating in school, I have for a while but now it's really getting serious, do you think I can go to the doctor and get this checked out and maybe a medication?" or smthn like that..but remember that those tests aren't always accurate and you might just have a short attention span..not ADD

xpianogirl89x answered Saturday November 6 2004, 12:05 pm: Definitely tell you mom.. i took a test like that too once in a magazine and i got 6 out of 10 answers... I don't think i have a severe case of ADD though so those tests aren't always right. Ask your mom if she could take you to a doctor and get diagnosed for it because you're having trouble concentrating and stuff like that... she'll understand, and she'll be glad you spoke up.

alisonmarie answered Saturday November 6 2004, 9:49 am: Yes, let your mom know. You haven't done anything bad; ADD is a fairly common thing that you have no control over.
Once you get to a doctor and are properly diagnosed, you CAN get some control. You're obviouly concerned about yourself and are wanting to do something about it - good for you.
Your doctor could recommend medication or not...either way, you've taken a positive step towards looking after yourself. Your mom will be happy you feel responsible for your thoughts/actions. [ alisonmarie's advice column | Ask alisonmarie A Question ]
beatlesrevil answered Saturday November 6 2004, 9:30 am: No big. Lots of kids have ADD. Just tell your mom and see what she says. Tell her you're worried and don't want to have ADD. Then you can go to a real doctor who can actually diagnose you and then you can get medicine for it. :) Hope I helped. -Manda [ beatlesrevil's advice column | Ask beatlesrevil A Question ]
K*tina answered Saturday November 6 2004, 8:41 am: It's like a little quiz..what can that do? I've taken many quizzes online n they don't come out real..they uss wanna scare you..but if you think you really do have it..you should tell her..she shouldn't be that hard on you if u think u have it...
xoshaneyney3283 answered Saturday November 6 2004, 8:23 am: You should definitely tell your mom so she can take you to a doctor to see if you actually do have add. You can't always trust what they have on the internet try talking to your school nurse and see what she says.
Brittnay answered Saturday November 6 2004, 4:13 am: Well, Me and my mother stongly think i have ADD as well. I dont think you should really worry about that...Because it was an internet test. Go to a parent and ask if they can take you to the doctor to get that checked out. =) -brit. [ Brittnay's advice column | Ask Brittnay A Question ]
