teen books

Question Posted Friday November 5 2004, 4:14 pm

Does anyone know any really good books about like teenage situations but is like a fictional story. (like the Gossip Girl series). I love that series and would love to read other books just like that! I'll rate. Thanks for your help.

You should definitely read "Sloppy firsts" and "Second Helpings", by Megan McCafferty. "Boy meets boy" by David Levithan is really good too. Some other great teen books are "The year of secret assignments" and "Gingerbread" but I'm not sure who the authors are. There is also the "Princess diaries" series by Meg Cabot. The movie Princess Diaries was taken from the books and they are really not like the movies. They are a lot better. Have fun reading!

I haven't read the gossip girls, so I'm not exactly sure what type they are... but I do have a few ideas that you may or may not like... Any book that Francesca Lia Block wrote, I can reccomend, some are better than others, my personal favorite is "The Hanged Man" another good one was "Wasteland" both by Block... Otherwise S.E. Hinton is a good writer, also Janet Fitch "White Oleander" its a little harder but still good

some good book series of that type are the princess diaries series (much better than the movies), the georgia nicholson series (angus, thongs, and full-frontal snogging is the first one), and the sisterhood of the traveling pants. i also heard that the a-list series is a lot like gossip girl, although i've never read either so i wouldn't know.

*Gossip Girls is the best. One book I really enjoyed was The Au Pair. It's about these 3 teenage 'hot nannys' who go to the Hamptons. I'm sure you'll love it!*
