Scary Movies

Question Posted Sunday October 31 2004, 5:35 pm

Ok, don't think I am crazy or anything, I just DO NOT like scary movies. I end up thinking about them long after I have watched them. Now, I know the best idea is not to watch them, but unfortunatly I don't always have that choice. Any good techniques besides the simple "Remember that it is fake?" Thanks

Well, I know this won't work for all movies, but if you watch the "Scary Movie" version before seeing the real one it will probably help. I saw "scary Movie 3" before I saw "The Ring" and I didn't think "The Ring" was scary at all! If you also can recognize the actors, that helps...because you can't picture them anywhere other than their music video or crying while accepting an oscar lol! Good Luck!

I am very scared of scary movies to!! For me I try and make a joke of the whole movie and point out really dumb things be like "wow that mask is horrible, did a four year old make it?" Like try and make fun of everything in the movie... and worst comes to worst just close your eyes... haha wear sunglasses to the movies and have a good nap.. then when the movie is over be like wow that was so boring !

Aw, lol. Well, I try not to show that I get scard easily, so in the movie theatre I always hold the popcorn..sit with me knees up, and the popcorn between them, so I'm blocking the screen..without anyone knowing what I'm doing. XD I also close my eyes at scary parts and think of flowers, because that's what comes to mind when I think, "Think of something pretty, nice." Lmao. <3

After you watch the movie, have your friends act them out for you- tell them to be as stupid and funny as possible. Then afterwards when you're thinking about the movie, your friends funny versions will be whats stayed in your head.

Well, you don't HAVE to watch them do you? If it's a party maybe take your bff in a room and talk to her while veryone watches the movie. And it IS fake. Just some goofy guy trying to scare you. MAybe after the movie watch a really funny movie. Also, watch th movie, and ask a friend who's seen it let you know when a scary part is coming so you can leave. Also, sometimes it's ridiculous. "Ok, there's a killer on the loose, it's pitch black, my flashlight doesn't work, let's go for a walk!" When you think about it, they're stupid. ANd think of the things that scares you in a funny situation.

Close your eyes when a scary part comes, or hold on to someone real tight haha..or just run out of the movies, house, etc.
