what to do hey!
Im in theater class and i have to do a monoluge containing a conflict in it. I really want to awake feelings in people and by uniuqe...one that no one will have. most of the ideas i came up with are already taken such as playing a teenager with a defect and his issues, or about to love someone or forget someone. im really kinda clueless right now, and i need as much as i can get. If you're going to answer this, please make sure u dont give me some relevent ideas, but something that u think if is acted well, could awake strong feeling in the crowd. thank u very much!! have a good day =D

good question! lets see... try doing a monolouge of something you care about, whether it be about suicide, dealing with drugs, losing a parent (i'm giving you hints here :)) just remember, it would be just as good to do a monolouge thats not as powerful that you can really relate to and have experience with.

Personaly, I think monologues always end up more successful if your farther away from who you really are so you can be in a total different character. Don't be a typical teenager.
Some suggestions...
1) A woman who lost a loved one in 9/11
2) a pregnat woman who is trying to decide on having an abortion or not.
3) A homeless person, you could talk about the problems of being homeless, people treating you badly, how you got that way, etc.
4) I think any minority, like it would be touching if you were a muslum girl talking about how people though you were a terrorist after 9/11 and how it made you feel.
If you have any more questions, ask. I have a lot of knowledge and experence in this area and i'd love to help!! ]
Since I think you'd enjoy it more if you came up with your own idea, instead of giving you ideas, I will give you inspirational quotes for you to think about.
"Anybody can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way - that is not within everybody's power and is not easy." -Aristotle
"Character is not measured by appearance, but by integrity." -Myself
"Let no one who loves be unhappy...even love unreturned has it's rainbow." -J.M.Barrie
"The Life of every man is a diary in which he means to write one story, and writes another." -J.M.Barrie
"There's something beautiful in everyone, if only we take the time to look for it." -Myself (I change my opinion on this frequently...)
"We may delight in our short pleasures, but long depressions will always succeed." -Forgot where I got this from, I think it was Lucifer in Paradise Lost, not sure.
"There was never genius without a touch of madness." -Plato
So yeah, hope these help.

I'd say if you did one about maybe a marraige between 2 people of different races or religion. That can be pretty deep and also brings up the everyday stereotypes people have about things like that.
Say you a Christian american girl (I apologize if you are not american or anything but this is just an example, so i dont mean to offend you) falls in love with someone of the middle eastern decent, and say your parents are against it because they feel all middle eastern people are terrorists and no goods, And his parents are against it because they feel all americans or the white christian race are all stuck up or something like that. Then you can throw in a conflict of religion about how one family is muslim, and the other is Christian or Catholic and how its totoally against both religions but you too dont care bc you love each other..
I think that would be a nice strong Conflict that might wake a few people up if they think any of that.
And I deeply apologize for anyone reading this I hope I havent offended anyone, I was just suggesting a conflict that really does happen and I by no means are racist or a bigot. I just think some people need to realize that most stereotypes are wrong.
I hope this is something that can help ]
I don't know if you are having to write a monologue or not. If you need ideas, spend a few hours at the library. The most interesting plays I have found are usually done by either minorities or the Humana Festival.
If you have to write it from scratch, think about some of the issues in the newspaper: abortion, stem cell research, iraq, homeless people. Dealing with a disability isn't a bad idea. Then you need to think of what kind of characters you want to deal with it. Cranky, happy, troubled, and mix them up so that you have one side of an issue or problem and how one particular person thinks it should go, and then the "devil's advocate."
I hope this helps. ]
I'd say if you did one about suicide... those always seem to catch the audiances attention... I know i've seen kids my age preforme suicide monologues. It strikes the audiances attention and their emotions as well. That or maybe a jealous kind of monologue. Where your jealous of another person because they got the guy/girl... you wanted to date. those are always good. Best of luck and i hope i gave you some ideas.
