Question Posted Sunday October 17 2004, 4:11 pm

i've been eating a lot of candy for like the past 3 days, pretty much all ive ate was candy and chocolates and soda, n the only food was pizza and a hot dog. me and my parents are like 99% sure that i have diabetes and ive heard that one of the things that will happen to you when you have diabetes is mouth pain and i always have mouth pain, i have to tak 3 aspirins every morning so it wont hurt in school. so we thought it was a cavitty and we went to the dentist and there was nothing on the x ray so now were like positive its diabetes. anyways, today my mouth was hurting really bad so i took 4 aspirins and i couldnt take the pain and that hasnt helped so i took one more and it still was hurting so i went to go brush my teeth and wen i spit out blood came out and i checked my gums to see if they were just bleeding from the toothbrush and they werent so i just spit and blood came out in this thick mucus (sorry if thats gross) so i was kind of worried then it still hurt so i took 2 more aspirins cause the pain was unbearable. so basically i have taken 7 asprins and i only weigh 100 pounds, im really scared but no ones home and im scared to go to a neighbor or call 911..and i really dont want to puke, do you think ive over dosed or anything please help

Stop taking aspirin. You may have an ulcer. You really need to go to the doctor.

Call them ahead of time because he can also test you for diabetes. I know what its like to be afraid of having diabestes because mom is on an insulin pump. So far I am alright, but overweight. Please don't assume that one particular symptom is the disease. Get tested.

It is unlikely that overdosing in such a small way on aspirin will do anything but cause you a bit of a stomach ache. Doing this often can lead to ulcers as it will damage your stomach lining. You may not have diabetes. It is more likely you have periodontitis, which is caused by not taking proper care of your teeth. You need to stop eating candy if you think you have diabetes and you need to get to a doctor and get a blood glucose test to determine if that's what's wrong with you.

It doies sound like you have taken WAY to many aspirin. you might want to call your mom or dad on their cell phones or at work? To me, it doesn't sound like you have diabetes, a simple blood test or pee test will tell if you have it. Go to your doctor to test for the diabetes and your mouth. Don't take aspirin every day for the teeth pain, it thins your blood and can if you accidently cut your self or get injured, then you would stop bleeding and also can tear at your stomach. Just get to a doctor. If you feel woozy or don't feel good, call 911. The blood in the mucus, can be from your nose and is sometimes common, but with the details you have given me, it may be dangerous. So please go to a doctor and get checked out. Stop taking aspirin. Try oragel and any other tooth pain reliver.

alright, sorry sweety, but you're not online right now.

i think that there's a really good chance you've overdoused. You don't need to call 911. you can call your police department (they're in your phone book) and ask to talk to someone who might be able to help you. You can also call poison control.

maybe you should call your parentle units while your at it . ..

Yah I think you've overdosed. I'm not exactly sure how much a 100 pound person is supposed to take because I take liquid...but my sister only takes like 2...sOoOo I would call 911 and talk to them about it (*they are nice, they won't be mean to you) or maybe a friend. Or call your parents' cell phones if they have them with them. Or call your doctor. Or the pharmacy @ CVS or smthn...just anyone who knos what they're talking about!!!
=) HoPe I HeLpEd!

Regarding the overdosing: call 911. There is nothing to be afraid of - the people will be friendly and helpful, and this could save your life. It'll also get you into a doctor's office, which is where you need to be.

If you've eaten nothing but candy and you were really diabetic, you'd be having a lot more of a problem than some mouth pain. That much candy and nothing else could send you into shock and kill you. So do I think you have diabetes? No.

Do I think you need to get checked out? Yes. A doctor can do a simple pee-test and blood-test to check if you have diabetes. If you don't, then you DO need to find out what is causing mouth pain (problems from all the sugar? pain from wisdom teeth? an absess somewhere in your mouth? clenching your jaw unconsciously? grinding your teeth while you sleep?) and where the blood is coming from.

Bleeding right now could be happening from your stomach - if you've taken too many pills, they'll literally rip your stomach apart. So call your parents if you can reach them, and if not, see if a neighbor can take you to the hospital. Or call 911.

You've taken a lot of medication in a short period of time. You may or may not be damaging yourself.

A doctor will fix this problem and get you an appropriate medication to help you manage your mouth pain until it's sorted out.

Yes, you probably overdoesed. Look at the asprin bottle, read the over-dosing things. If you overdosed you need to go to a doctor asap. Ask your neighbors to take you because you might have overdoesed and yeah..
