Trying to oppress other's views are we?
It's become a trend in my area for some very ignorant people to steal campain signs from public and private yards. Basically, all of the Kerry/Edwards signs have come up missing only to be found dumped with big W's spray painted on them. I am disgusted by this, as I'm sure any self respecting Bush supporter would be too. I am for Kerry, but I would never think of imposing on anyone's right to speak out for the candidate that they believe in.
It's gotten quite bad. I took a two minute walk down the road and saw three or four Kerry/Edwards signs. Four hours later they were all missing.
I want to express my views with a few signs in my yard, but I do not want them to be vandalized. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could go about doing this?

I think that you should type a letter saying what you just said almost exactally because I really liked how you worded it, and staple it to the front of kerry edwards signs and put them back where they were when the vandles did stuff to them. Then we'll see what happens, but this will all be over with in a few days thank god (well only if Kerry wins :) Go Kerry!

Chain a big dog to your signs, or put up a sign that says "Vandals will be fired upon" And it wouldnt help to let the neighborhood know that you did time at Alcatraz, or maybe spent some time in a institution.

put them in your window, that way there's no way that the vandels can get to them.
Since you said the vandels are quick, stick one in your yard, and as soon as you see them coming turn on the sprinklers and run out of your house throwing something at them. No joke! They won't come back.
I'm sorry that people are terrorizing your communitee like that. That's really not constitutional.

I think you should maybe write an opinion article to the newspaper...bc chances are if you put up signs...they will be vandalized. But you can like put them in really really deep into the ground or maybe hang them from the inside of your windows or super glue them to the mailbox or chain them to a tree....but if people are really against kerry...for your safety you might not wanna advertise it too much, you might get jumped or smthn (*probably not...but its just smthn to think about) You can maybe complain to the county about it too...I don't know what they can do, but I think you should talk to the newspaper and write an article in the opinion section about it!!

Spring-load a vile of a rare disease to the base of your sign. When they lift the sign to remove it, the disease will be released and they will be infected; afterwhich, I doubt they'll come back.
