I've been suffering from clinical depression for a few years, and recently started having panic attacks and mild hallucinations. The hallucinations are morbid (pools of blood, reaching hands, ect.) but clearly recognizable as they're so out of place. I don't want to see a psychologist or take medication. Is there a way to make your mind stay away from depressing thoughts or just clear it if things start getting hazy/weird?

And medication.. who cares? I take paxil and amprozolium (I cant spell..) and they both work. I started having attacks in 6th grade.. and now I can totally control them! Talk to your mom about going somewhere.. nobody has to know about you going anywhere/ taking medication.. Seriously it helps, and that's the only thing I can think of that can help you clear your mind. Talk to someone about it! =)

It doesn't clear up, you have to learn to deal with it daily. You don't always have to take medication, but sometimes you need it to start feeling better. c_assi_e_x_12 answered Tuesday October 12 2004, 3:41 pm: no there is no way to just avoid it without prefessional help. sometimes certain medications can make u hallucinate. and if u are on medication then switch. that could be a problem. and another thing it would probably be best to talk to a special doctor for some reasons:
1. They could give you medication
2. It's healthy to talk to someone and not bottle up ur problems
and by the sounds of ur morbid hallucinations it sounds to me like you have death on ur mind. its ok though. if u need to talk to me at all my advice column is c assi e x 12 feel free to ask me anything!! well i hoped this helped a little

I had clinical depression for a year and a half but I was never on medication for it. What you're saying sounds serious. Even though you don't want to, I do think that you should see a doctor. Psycologists do help alot. I went to one and I've been fine for almost a year. I like to play the guitar alot and listen to music, so that's what I do to keep me from getting depressed about something. Try to find something new to do that you've never done that interests you. It should make you feel much better. Also, WRITE WRITE WRITE!! Always write what you're feeling. Hope this helped [ xXxpinky615xXx's advice column | Ask xXxpinky615xXx A Question ]

Nik! answered Tuesday October 12 2004, 12:29 am: To make your mind clear, try thinking of other things obviously. Happy things. Try ya know..flowers, and stuff like that. I'm on depression medication also. I tried clearing my mind too, but it didn't work too well. Your best bet is to just take the medication.
hope I helped. Need to talk more about depression and stuff..IM me.. Brownie69813
vickiooos answered Monday October 11 2004, 10:30 pm: ouch depression is a pretty serious thing. its good to know that you are aware that you have depression and that you are getting deeper and deeper into it. it usually takes people a very long time for that.. but anyways to your actual question:
depression is a very hard thing to conquer and it may not be very easy to just "think happy thoughts" and make it go away.. seeing how you do know that it is getting serious i really would consider seeing someone or getting some sort of medicine to help. not alot of people are really capable of getting better from even "simple" depression. if it's really not a good possibility to you then try hotlines or talking it out with good friends or people you trust (i do that alot and it's been keeping me from cutting or any of that stuff). i find that talking things out or just getting it out (like through a journal or such) really helps sometimes. unfortunately a hotline would most likely only tell you to get help as advice.. so i'd go for just normal talking to someone you trust or writing things out. hope i helped and best of luck. xokaylanicoleox answered Monday October 11 2004, 10:30 pm: well to be honest if you were diagnosed with it then it means you will be suffering from it for the rest of your life. so my advice would be to get medication even though you dont want to .. but it will help get rid of all of that and thats really what you want out of this right? hope i helped! -kayla [ xokaylanicoleox's advice column | Ask xokaylanicoleox A Question ]
