here's a reality check. less than 1% of ppl are famous and less than half of them are actually recognized. everyone wants to be a singer/actor/model. have you actually had a lead role?? do you dedicate your entire life to the arts...i highly doubt it. you are just caught up in the fame aspect. sure singing is fun, but you much rather be famous. otherwise you wouldn't care about the biz. you'd be happy just singing for fun.

Try to see if there are any drama theaters near you. That will give you experience in acting. Also, get singing lessons. Teachers know people. Also, it can get you recognized by the public. The business is very hard because im in the acting and modeling business. So all I can say is see if there are any acting or music scouts coming in your town. Since you live in Nashville, I'm pretty sure there are alot that go there, you just have to look. I live in georgia so I know how you feel about no wanting to sing country music. All you have to do is not sing country! :) That will let people know that you're not interested in that kind of music. Well I hope I helped! Good luck! Brittany

get an agent, or try and get local gigs at coffee shops or something like that, some places probably have amatuer nights, check those out.

Look up managers/agents in the phone book. A good way to find them out is to go to a place that gives voice lessons and ask if they know of any talent agencies or agents and then get in contact with them. Or you can make a tape of yourself and send it to a record label. You could also do something like e-mail Montel or Oprah and suggest they do a show on singers trying to get noticed by people in the music buisness..and of course they should include you! or get in contact with some MTV people and maybe get on a show like Made and then try to get a record deal or something. The more creative ideas you get then the more chance you have of being recognized. I know Shia Labeuf or however you spell it actually lied to an agent about comericals and jobs he had done so the agent would be interested in him! Good Luck!!

I suggest singing a few songs on a good recorder, and put it on a tape. Then send it to record lables such as Jive Records, Geffen, etc. Good luck!

Get an agent, meet with talent scouts. That's all you can do. Get involved with various musical stage productions in your area - from school & local theatre to off-broadway productions.
