Stupid question, but I was wondering

Question Posted Tuesday October 5 2004, 8:45 pm

If you've never gotten your period and you have sex, then you can't get pregnant, am I correct?

Oh, and I'm not that young, so don't be like if you haven't gotten your period, then your not old enough, lets just say I'm in High school

[ Answer this question ]

Additional info, added Wednesday October 6 2004, 7:15 pm:
If it's possible to get pregnant, how does that work?

Okay, just to make this clear, I HAVEN'T had sex, and I've NEVER IN MY LIFE had my period, I'm only a freshman, it's not like I'm 17, 18 and w/o my period!!!

Ok, here are the true, scientific facts: About 2 weeks before every period, basically right in between cycles, you ovulate (release an egg from your ovaries.) Eggyolkenema is actually ALMOST right. It's not a month before, though, it's usually 2 weeks. Women are all different, however, and some ovulate 3 weeks or 1 week before their period. If the egg is fertilized by sperms, it will implant into the endometrium that lines the inside of your uterus. Therefor, if you happen to have sex the first time you ever ovulate, prior to your first period, you could get pregnant. If the egg is unfertilized, it will not implant and your uterus will begin to contract, your cervix (opening out of your uterus into the vagina) will open and you will expell the endometrium. This is your period. When you first get it, don't be alarmed if it is brown or pink, not just red, or if there are chunky things in it. It isn't actually blood, but a lining made of blood to nourish babies. I hope that helps. Be safe and see a doctor if you don't start menstruating by 16.

Unless you're infertile, the egg is still there so you can get preggers.
