Question Posted Saturday September 18 2004, 7:50 pm

Okay, I like this guy a lot.. and he's mixed. That doesn't bother me, but a lot of my other good friends are rednecks! That's like the only kind of people I really hang out with. I used to be a HUGE redneck, and was really racist... but I'm not anymore, because there's no point in that. My friends are friends with him, but they wouldn't go out with him... what do I say to my friends? I don't want to lose them, because they're awesome.. but I really like this guy, and if I have a chance to go out with him, I want to. I just don't want my friends to say rude things about us and make fun of me... What do I do? I'LL RATE!!

Explain to your friends that you really want to get to know him. Say that you really don't want to lose this chance and you know that they will understand. If they really are awesome frineds, then they will support you no matter what choice you make.

Ok if you want to keep the guy and friends: heres what you need to do!

Before you commit yourself to him have a discussion with your friends...and tell them...

ok listen guys..i know you guys dont believe in mixing races but i really like him and i just wanted to tell you guys im thinking about going out with him...i just want you to know right now and I NEED TO KNOW even if i decide to go with him yall will support me...

and then...

if they respond negativly...tell them im really sorry...i do respect your answer but im going to go out with him...

hope fully they tell you its kewl...if they really want to be your friend they will say its cool!

GOOD LUCK!

If you like him, go out with him. And if your friends make fun of you then dump your friends because they should be happy for you and understand that not everyone is racist and that interracial relationships are not bad.

If you're friends are that inconsiderate and rude that they can't accpet5 the fact that you like this guy and he makes you happy, and all they can see is the color of is skin, then they are not real friends nor are they worth your time.
