MoonFisher answered Friday September 17 2004, 12:07 pm: I took my parents to a nice dinner on their 25th anniversery. Maybe you can suprise them with passes to a day spa or a bigger trip if you have the money. Trinkets and crap like that tend to be overflowing out of your house by the time you've been married 25 years, so don't get them another dust collector. Lasag69 answered Friday September 17 2004, 10:00 am: Seeing thought the 25th anniversary is the Silver anniversary, perhaps a engraved silver frame or something would be good, silver is usually pretty cheap, especially wen silver plated, and getting something engraved is pretty cheap. Hope you find something good.
Good Luck :-) [ Lasag69's advice column | Ask Lasag69 A Question ]
misunderstood64 answered Thursday September 16 2004, 5:19 pm: ohh good question. I really love thegovernors(I think that's the nickname) idea. anyways I went to my friends house once and it happened to be their aniversary. Maybe the day before your parents leave you should do a little something for them. One cheap idea is waht my friend did. She decorated a nice room (dining room if that's ok) and she set them up a candilight dinner. she also made them their dinner. she then gave them a present her and her sister chipped in to do which was go to a cheap store with picture frames. Find a decent one with a couple things. They had the wedding certificate or invintation in the middle and they found some wedding pictures of them. The put those in the frame and they also put a few of themselves. this way ur paretns get a nice dinner, a picture frame, and a pictures of u and them on their wedding day. personally I thought it was a great idea! I hope u like and good luck I know it's tough to find a present lol. [ misunderstood64's advice column | Ask misunderstood64 A Question ]
xXxpinky615xXx answered Thursday September 16 2004, 5:06 pm: You could make reservations for them at their favorite resturant and pay for it yourself. or you could get them a card saying that you'll moe the lawn and clean the bathrooms for the next year i'm sure they'll get a kick out of that because most likely you won't do it. lol. buying for couples is very difficult but you could go to a costom store and get a throw blanket that has their anniversary date customized on it. TheGovernor answered Thursday September 16 2004, 4:40 pm: Cool, a well thought-out decent question for once. Buying presents for your parents is always rather difficult, especially because of the age gap. You should get them something they would both enjoy, or something you could enjoy as a family. An excellent idea would be a scrapbook. And it doesn't cost a lot of money either. Buy a plain scrapbook from a crafts store, and fill it with photos and quotes and other miscellaneous tidbits that apply to your parents. Parents love stuff like that. :-) [ TheGovernor's advice column | Ask TheGovernor A Question ]
MFS answered Thursday September 16 2004, 4:33 pm: that's always a toughy... myself, my brother, and my sister, along with a few other relatives, chipped in to get my parents a new camcorder for their 25th. Things like cameras (digital this day and age), picture collages of the family, etc... all good things. It just depends on how much money you are able to put towards it.
