storageanddisposal answered Thursday August 26 2004, 11:09 am: Music that scares you. Then you'll feel fear instead of sadness. I suggest The Berzerker. Alright, scratch that. What type of music do you like anyway? Just listen to your favorite band that doesn't make you feel worse. [ storageanddisposal's advice column | Ask storageanddisposal A Question ]
sweetsurrender answered Thursday August 26 2004, 11:08 am: It depends on whether it is a depressed "down" or an angry "down". When I get depressed I tend towards darker, sorrowful music...Evanescence, Radiohead, Smile Empty Soul, that stuff. Music I like when I'm angry is equally dark but stronger, more powerful...Linkin Park, AFI, Metallica.
If you want to cheer up, Five Iron Frenzy and No Doubt are amazing. Something with an upbeat tempo, light melody, and catchy tune that you find yourself singing to. Luck! [ sweetsurrender's advice column | Ask sweetsurrender A Question ]
MFS answered Thursday August 26 2004, 10:59 am: well, do you want to comiserate, or lift yourself up?
If you want to comiserate, then listen to depressing, dark songs... or angry songs.
If you want to lift yourself out of the funk, then listen to up-beat thigns... heck, listen to something funky, or even lively classical music, or bebop jazz or something that moves fast and is just bright and happy sounding. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
