What's a goofball to do?

Question Posted Friday August 20 2004, 8:50 pm

I am going into my junior year in school in about 2 weeks. Ever since freshman year, I have had the reputation of being the "goofball" or the "non serious" one. I think this is what caused somebody at school to always say "I hate you" and make fun of me. I never hear her say anything nice to me. Once in a while she'll be like "Oh you know I'm just kidding right?" And I'll be like "Oh yeah! I know!" It doesn't bother me that she says "I hate you" once in a while just kidding around, but it does bother me that she treats me differently than everyone else. I think she thinks it doesn't bother me because I usually just laugh it off. But it does bother me. I'd like to be friends with her without her treating me mean. I don't really want to tell her it bothers me, because that would be embarrasing to me...and her. So, what's a goofball to do?

maybe she' just trying to be a goofball like you and she isnt very good at it. i think you should not pretend it doesnt bother you anymore and get offended if she says something really mean. if she truly doesnt mean it she will probably try to console you and apologize. if shes a bitch about it, then she doesnt deserve to have you as a friend. from one goofball to another, this has to be done. good luck

i have the same problem. all i did was i kinda calmed down and when ppl treat me different i just don't talk back. then they don't make fun of you. and if she still does it just tell her that it bothers you. i know i cant do that but if you try to ignore her or don't talk back i'm sure shell get the point

well most likely this girl probbaly treats you that way becuase she likes you. sometimes people have a weird way of expressing thier selves. or childish ways, i might add. but yeah, i wouldnt take this too seriously, she probbaly has nothing against you and likes being your friend.
