.com domain names are highly sought after, with domain squatting and fun things like that... because of this, .com domain names can be expensive, thus, you can't just get a .com name for free.

Hosting is never free... there is some price to be paid somewhere, even if it means your site hax a billion ads, banners, and pop-ups on it. And many people find those really annoying.

The web costs a lot of money to run - nothing on it is really free. Bandwidth, disk space, server costs, personel... it all adds up somewhere for someone. Even if you get the appearance that it is free, it really isn't.

hey, there is a way to do it for free. Well, theres like two ways, you can either find a free web host, but most of them will make you but banners and stuff to advertise your web page and they also have hidden details that you will pay for later. Or you can learn how to type html and make your webpage offline. Thats how the big websites do it. They type it in microsoft word and send it to the internet. I haven't learned html yet so I can't help you with that. But if you can get a book and/or maybe someone to help you. That would be your best bet at a fre website. Hope I helped.
