question for everybody that asks questions on advicenators: How come you dont rate somebody after they answer your questions? it doesnt take a lot of effort and its a quick little thank you for their response. It helps the advice giver to understand how well they answer certain questions. I think everybody should rate out of pure politeness...Just curious as to why most people dont..??

i rate people everytime! =) cause they take enough time to give me advice..the least i can do is rate them! and i think so far i have rated everyone a 5! =)

Some people are too lazy or just never get around to it. The biggest reason is because they really dont think the answer is helpful but the person is nice so they dont want to give them a 1 or a 2. Most people are actually nice for doing this b/c this way they wont hurt a nice persons feelings. I for one always rate and like to rate but we're here on advicenators to help people... sure rating is nice and helpful, but we are not on this website to be RATED. Helping people out is 10x more important than being rated and a good columnist will hope for the best of the people with troubles and never ask or think 1nce of rating.

i rate the answers that help me or that i feel the person put time into answering.......so does that mean that you are gonna rate this?? lol but i know what you mean, i like reading what people have to say about the advice i give because if i selected the question to answer, then i've put time into answering it and i like to know if i've helped at all.................<3

I ask tons of questions and I always rate...people (99.999999999999% of the time) try to help me if i need serious help... but from and advice giver to those who dont rate: SERIOUSLY, we spend like a while trying to help them...yet they dont seem to care to rate us... which is WHAT WE REALLLLY WANT..... but oh well, i like helping people even though sometimes they dont appreciate my help ;)

I rate- just i don't rate every single answer- i'll rate the best one and then i'll rate some pretty stupid ones that deserve stupid ratings- but otherwise i only rate a few cuz it will take 4ever 2 rate every single answer
