Question Posted Sunday August 1 2004, 5:29 pm

Ok, my friend is 18 and his girlfriend is 19. She is a virgin and has never done anything with anyone else before. So he told me they were talking and she wants to lose her virginity to him. He said exact words "I don't know what to do because it can't fit in" then he explained that he can't even get his fingers in and her been trying but he doesn't want to hurt her. She said she thinks she has a thick hymen. Does anyone have any helped for my friend? I told him to have her go to the doctors but I don't know if he is going to tell her that. My friend is too embarassed to ask people because hes a guy but her problem has never happened to me before. Can any1 help them out? I'm being 100% serious

Thanks!

I highly doubt that having a thick hymen would actually disable someone from having sex.
If she wasn't lubed enough, he wouldn't be able to get his fingers in - it makes sense. Sex requires a lot of foreplay for girls. She might just need a little more attention...
If that doesn't work, use a water-based lube like KY jelly. Never use vaseline with condoms. Just a warning. It breaks them, I think. (My mom told me that)
As for not wanting to hurt her, that's gonna be kind of hard if she's tight, or unlubed.
She can stretch herself out a little by using tampons when she's on her period, and by fingering herself. Those two both help loosen you up.
I hope this helped a bit!

Your friend should rub vacaline inside of her before he tries anything, because vacaline has a tendency to make things slide easier. He could try that, but if that doesn't work then I'd suggest going to a doctor. Hope the vacaline works, though!

Well theres really nothing he can do. If they are going to have sex or if hes gonna finger her hes going to have to force it in, and its going to hurt her at first. Or she could also finger herself making it easier for him. But it will still hurt for her. I hope I helped <3 Jesi

she may have a thick hymen. this doesnt mean she cant have sex, but the only way she will get used to having sex and it will feel good is if she does, which means it will hurt at 1st. it might even hurt for the 1st couple of times. they could also try a lubricant, that might make things a little better.
