If your voice isn't that great, did you get picked for a lead role? If not, and you're in the chorus, you have nothing to worry about. Your crush prob'ly won't be able to hear you. That's the way it should be in a chorus. One big sound, with no individual voices sticking out. Anyway,
Get soundtracks to musicals with music similar to the stuff you'll be singing and sing along with that for starters. To warm up your voice, go to a piano or a keyboard or whatever, and do fifth slides (C-G-C, C#-G#-C#, D-A-D, etc.) on "Ah," or whatever vowel your voice carries the best on. For me, it's actually "Ee". So do fifth slides until you get one whole step higher than the highest note you're gonna be singing in your pieces. If you have to sing a G, stop at an F on your first exercise, and go down from there. Go to an F sharp or a G on your next excercise, then an A on your last one. Then do descending fifths, and go one or two whole steps lower than your lowest note.
Then do octave slides.
After that, I suggest you try ninths. Like...do a fifth slide, up and down, then go up a ninth in one breath. Make sure you don't push your voice too much or you'll destroy it.
I have an aria I'm singing...I have to be able to hit a low A loud and a high B flat pianissimo. To get to the B flat, I sing at least to my high C.
Remember - if it hurts your throat or ANY part of your body, take a break, relax, take a drink or three of water and relax your throat muscles. Belt musical theater, supporting from your stomach, not your throat.
Okay, If I write anymore, this will be too long to read...Lol. I'm going to be a vocal performance major in college - I know a disgusting amount of stuff about voice. If you need more specific help, IM me. I'm SirenCytherea on AIM.

So if you can't sing, How could you get a play singing? So try a few singing lessons to get you where you need. If you are not willing to pay any money then sing with the radio or sing a song you like to get where your needing.

You should practice singing by going up and down the scale as far as you can, and then if you keep doing that your voice will get stronger so you'll be able to sing better.

Listen to your favourite songs and sing in the style of your voice, not the singers. Also if you listen to slower songs they help you increase or decrease the tone of your voice when your singing! You musnt be that bad at singing if you got picked for the musical! Just do what you can and stay confident :o)

Unless you arent one of the main people dont worry about it too much. But you should practice by sing the the notes (doe,ra,me...)Maybe you have a good voice too and you just dont know it! What you hear when you talk isnt your real voice, you cant actually hear your real voice. Scary isnt it? Also I would try recording your voice and singing on a tape and listen to it and see what you need to work on. Hoped i helped! rate me plz*

1st sing the notes higher in a count from 1-8
like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 then 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
so.. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1, so eight being the highest note, or u can just do that wit do re mi fa so la ti do

or, sing Mamma Made Me Mash My M&M's and get higher each time, then do it again but start out high and end low

or, idk how to spell this, but to bring out r 'Diaphram' we sang..idk how to spell this either, but ill try..Chik a papa chick a papa chik a papa chik chik a pop chik a pop u sing that kinda slowly

those are the only music excersises i remeber, we also did stretches n stuff to help, like we'd bend over, and as we came up we'd sing a note, that would also help r diaphram

Hope I Helped
