I know it's not really polite to pick your teeth at the dinner table with toothpicks (well, better those than your finger I guess, but that's not the point). So if you keep toothpicks on your table all the time as just part of the centerpiece art or whatever, does that make you trashy or what?
GC_rox_my_sox answered Saturday April 10 2004, 4:26 pm: Don't keep toothpicks as a centerpiece. People will take it as a sign that you don't mind when people pick their teeth at the table, and then they will think you are trashy. Stick with flowers as a centerpiece instead. Here-To-Help answered Wednesday December 31 2003, 12:42 pm: NO, as long as you don't do it unpolitely but flicking it everywhere. Rather, use the tooth pick with whatever hand you write with and then cover it with the other hand. [ Here-To-Help's advice column | Ask Here-To-Help A Question ]
sparklytiara answered Tuesday December 30 2003, 11:24 am: I wouldn't say it makes you trashy. A little odd maybe, though, for using toothpicks as a centerpiece, I've never seen them as art. o.O But each to his (her) own. [ sparklytiara's advice column | Ask sparklytiara A Question ]
FernGully answered Tuesday December 30 2003, 1:24 am: I thought it was okay to use toothpicks as long as you don't make a lot of annoying sounds and eat whatever you've picked out of your teeth. Perhaps I was wrong.
If you have them there and don't invite their usage that may be misleading for people who sit at your table. They may think you welcome them to pick crap out of their teeth in front of you. [ FernGully's advice column | Ask FernGully A Question ]
shay*shay answered Monday December 29 2003, 11:49 pm: No that does not make one trashy, but if you arent going to use the toothpicks at the table whats the point of them sitting there? I mean they arent the best accesory for the middle of the table, but if you like it.
