How to tell my DAD that I started having my period?

I live alone with my dad and have since I was a baby. My mom died in a freak accident of sorts and so it's just been me and my dad all of these years. We get along great! The problem is that I started to have my period and I am going to need some pads (my friend gave me a few of hers to get me by for a couple of days). I know I should tell my dad so that he knows about it but I don't know what to say to him that isn't embarrassing for us both. How do I tell my single-father that I've started having periods?

Are unicorns based on mythology or were they real at some point?

I know mythic creatures like mermaids, dragons, and centaurs were never real and were based on old tales and mythology. I even heard that mermaids were, in reality, manatees or sea-cows.
What I'm curious about is if UNICORNS are actually real? I mean, it doesn't sound too out-of-the-ordinary to me. Lots of creatues have horns on their heads and there are many creatures with skull deformaties. I was even thinking that unicorns might have just been a mutation of the horse that people eventually killed to extinction.

Tips to tell someone who has just started their period?

My little sister has just started having her periods and I wanted to make a list of tips to give her to help her out. I don't live with her and she lives in a house full of guys (Dad & two older brothers) so it's pretty embarrassing and frustrating for her. The neighbor's have been trying to help her but they don't really take very good care of themselves so I'm afraid she's going to get lost with all of this.
What are some really good tips to tell somebody who has just started to have periods? What do you wish somebody would have told you? What have you learned throughout the years that you didn't know at first (but wish you had known or are glad you found out)?

Is there a third Twilight movie?

My friend said she went to the movies over the weekend and saw the preview to the newest upcoming Twilight movie. I haven't read the books or anything (my mom won't let me) so I don't know if the "series" has been finished but is there a third movie coming out based on the books by Stephenie Meyer? When would it be showing? And where can I see the trailer or preview to the newest Twilight movie?

What are some great unique questions to ask to get to know someone?

I want to get to know this guy at school better but I'm running out of good questions to ask him about himself. We have been hanging out more recently and I think we seem to have a spark. I want to get to know HIM though and so I've been asking lots of questions. I've gone through the usual favorite color/food/movie/music thing but am looking to ask more...UNIQUE questions. Or maybe more in-depth questions! He might become my boyfriend so questions to ask your boyfriend are good suggestions too if anybody has them.

Natural or Homeopathic ways to cure cancer?

At work today I actually got to TALK with my supervisor about her life. She told me that her husband is very sick with bladder cancer and that he's gone into treatment for awhile now. He was first diagnosed a year ago and they told him he probably wouldn't make it the entire year. They cut tumors from his bladder a few times but they continued to grow back. He's had the chemotherapy treatments but still isn't doing very well.
I thought there might be some natural cures for cancer that I might be able to find online. I knwo there are many homeopathic remedies for plenty of illnesses that are said to be uncurable (or incurable, whichever). I am not sure if there might be a more specific site for questions and information ...

Is it possible for a black person to naturally have blue eyes?

I was talking with a teacher of mine about genetics and she said that true African descendants always have brown eyes. I told her that I've seen many African-Americans with blue eyes though! She suggested that both of the person's parents were not black (like one was black and the other was white/caucasian) if the eyes were any other color than brown. She also said that contacts change the eye color and that may be why I've noticed "so many" dark-skinned people with light colored eyes (and, yes, I know about contacts...just saying her point).
So, is it really possible for a dark person to have blue eyes or some other light colored eyes (like green)?

Hi there!
I have a computer work at home (W@H) job that I've been doing for about six months now. Unfortunately, the company I am currently working for is closing down and I will be forced to find another job with another company. I am happy that they have given me some notice of this but am still shocked from the news.

Almost 18...never been in a relationship

Here's the deal: I'm 17, almost 18 years old and I've never had a boyfriend. Is there something wrong with me? I feel like guys NEVER like me as anything more than a friend, and I've been discouraged so many times I don't know what to do. It's not like I don't have any experience with guys, I've made out with and hooked up with guys before (never slept with anyone though), but whenever this happened both me and the guy were always really drunk or high at a party. It's like I'm not good enough to actually be dated, and because I've never gotten close to anyone before while sober, I get really awkward and never know what to do. Is there something wrong with me?

Overly Sensitive

I am completely stuck. I have borderline personality disorder among many other mental disorders which leaves me majorly over sensitive with extreme trust issues and a poor self-image. My boyfriend knows this and tries to help me as much as possible with it but unfortunately his idea of playfully flirting with me is to joke about other girls and things along that line which are major triggers to my disorder. Although I can logically process the comments and know he's just flirting with me my emotions take control and I get extremely upset. my friend and i arent going to prom so instead we wanted to do something really fun. we wanted to attend a concert but we couldnt find any that day. so i'm wondering if anyone has a good idea. the day is may 14th and we are willing to go to new york, connecticut, rhode island, massachusetts, or new jersey for whatever activity we do. we dont really want to see a comedian or any sports game. if there is no events going on then can you think of any ideas of what we can do in providence, nyc, or anywhere in connecticut?
