totally pissed off
i want to paint my room black, and then splat paint it with bright pink. i thin kit would look awsome!!it would really reflect my wild, punk personality..im sure it would. but my mom says she will never paint my room black. i get soooooo pissed off!!!! nop matter what i do she always says no. i want the theme to be pink and black no matter what. please tell me what to do or how to get my mom to consider it!!!

Sweeitie, I understand why your pissed off. I wanted to paint my walls pink and my ceiling black but my mom refused! And my walls couldn't be black either. Have you tried asking her about painting your walls pink and splattering on lots of black paint or have you even condidered that an option? Well if you own the house there should not really be a problem.. have a talk with her and explain that you want your room to relfect your style and you want something different.. tell her if you guys ever plan on moving or if you move out you'll repaint the room white or a color she likes.

britski..hmm..im kinda in the same spot but what i think would look good is paint ur walls hot pink and go out to spencers or whereever and get blacklights and some black things ur mom shouldnt have a problem with that thats what im gonna do..lol..make it look cute/punkish

Try painting it Hot Pink and Splatter black on it...Or just paint one wall black and splatter it with hot pink then do the rest of your room hot pink...

That would look awesome....wish I'd thought of that when we painted my room...Anyway, first, ask your mom what IS allowed. That way, you don't get shot down all the time. If she gives you a bunch of lame ideas that you hate, take her to a decorating place. Go to places like Home Depot and pick up a ton of paint swatches and booklets- they have a lot of good ideas in them and she might be able to visualize how cool it could actually look. If she's totally opposed to painting the entire room solid black (my mom's kind of anti-black colored stuff- not people- stuff, too. Lucky for me, she lightened up) try doing the whole pink on black thing differently. I would do vertical stripes of black and pink- it should make the room feel bigger and the ceiling higher. But first find out what's acceptable, then start figuring out what you want to do.

Hey! maybe you could try paiting your room a pinkish color.. then either splat the walss with black paint.. or even Silver!.. pink and silver deffienlty show a cute/punky side to a girl! so try asking your mom about somthing like that! if not.. DONT give up!! keep beggin your mom and hope for the best!!!

i think you should switch your idea around. how about hot pink with black splatters? or pink and black stripes? if she wont paint it black, then she should (maybe) let you do it the other way around and it would still look totally badass.

well what you can do is, if you want your WHOLE rooms theme to be pink and black, start changing everythinig in your room so it is all pink and black... i mean like sheets, chairs, bed covers, lamp shades, notebooks, just like change EVERYTHING pink and black other than the things you have to paint, and then show your mom how serious you are about really wanting to change it, and hopefully she'll give in. if she dosen't... you can just hang sheets up or put paper on your walls with pictures... and tell your mom that your room is the only place that you have to express yourself... just try to persuade her, but it will take time! i hope i helped!:D good luck

i think that sounds really cool! great idea to show off ur personality. ur mom; i say thats what u tell her..its who you are, n she has to accept that. whats her reason for saying no to this? try and compromise if she still wont give in. (my mom did the same exact thing to my room, i know how u feel!) maybe get half the color u want on ur walls..n the other part when shes ready. its your room after all =)i hope i helped!

Hey umm havce you told your mom how much you really want your room like that? I mean without like really getting mad? Try that and see if she lets you do what you want after. If that doesnt work, maybe she just doesnt want your room to be so dark? Have you thought of doing the opposite with pink walls and black splated on it?? I dont know if youd like that but it's an Idea!

The problem with black is it will make your room seem much smaller than it actually is. It also is very difficult to paint over. See if you can come to a compromise with your mother. Maybe tone is down with light grey, or pink, or just use accents of black and pink. But remember, it is her house, and her walls, so she does have final say. You can't get too mad at her for that.

there's not much you really can do hence the fact that it's your mum's house and not yours. Maybe she's fearing that you'll want these colors now, but in a couple of years or so you might want something new. The best thing you can do is keep trying to convince her that this is wat you really want. Other than that there's not a whole lot you can really do

you could maybe just do that on one wall then do the opposite on the others, maybe your mom thinks it`ll be too dark ..

Hey why dont you take a piece of cardboard and paint it black and then splatter pink on it and see if you actually like it if you do consider showing it to your mom and tell her that you really like it and its not just a fad that your going through u might want to try pink with black splatters and see if that looks better then the black on pink ya know what I mean dont get mad cus black is black ya kno so just experiment with it on the cardboard and see how you like it!!!
