my boyfriend was feeling really down because he has a temporary depression. i prayed to God (i'm Christian) and asked if he could make my bf happy and i implied that i'd do anything just to see him happy, even give up my happiness for his. A week later he dumped me and i've never seen him happier. i'm hurt and i'm just wondering if you think it's the work of God or just a weird coincident. (link)

i dont go to church, and basically every one i know does, or is heavily religious. what do i say to people if they ask me where i go to church, or did i go to church today?

Be honest. Tell them you don't go to church. If you want to go though you should. Church is a great place to go.

Only God knows when that will happen. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye, like a thief in the night. Just stay close to God and you will be fine. By that I mean trust Him as your personal saviour. Then, it won't matter when he comes back you will be ready.

With the first black president in office and all this stuff going on, my family started talking about this date.
My family has a very strong spiritual background as Christians, but mine isn't as strong. I have accepted the Lord as my savior, been baptised, yadda yadda, but still. I have doubts about religion. What if it all really DID just start out from dust and particles and stuff?
I'm almost sixteen and I'm worried that IF anything significant should happen on that date, I won't be ready. When the signs show, I'm scared that everyone will be raptured up to heaven and I'll be left behind :[
I lie, I lust, I *ahem* pleasure myself. And I feel TERRIBLE for it. I don't read any of the books on young girls and God that I get for Christmas. They all seem kinda boring. But I don't have the time to read the bible cover to cover, even though God doesn't care. He wants us to MAKE time for him!

You should pray and ask God to help you. Repent all your sins. He will listen. He loves you and wants to help you. He will run to you take you in His arms and tell you its ok. You need to re-dedicate your life to Him. Read the bible all you need to know is in there. Doubting is not good. God IS real. He created us and sent His son to die for us. That is the ultimate sacrifice! How could you doubt that? The bible is not boring. It tells how the earth was formed and how Jesus was born, lived, and died. Really pray and ask God to be with you in everything you do. You will start to notice His hand in everything you do. Good luck and God bless you.

I just got a bible as a present, it's an NIV version. It's purple and green and soo cute, and I'm feeling...inspired. I really want to start sitting down and studying, reading, whatever you want to call it.
My family has a strong Christian background, but we don't go to church or anything like that.
It's such a big book! So...where do I start?
In the back, there are some lists of versus about Jesus' healings and things like that.
I just don't know where to begin. Some versus in the New Testament are in red. Should I start with those?
Do I even read the whole Bible word for word, in order?! Gahhh! I'm so overwhelmed. Please, help! (link)

You should start at the beginning in Genesis. It tells how he formed the earth and people and everything. It is great. You should read like a chapter or two or how many ever you want a night. It's a good thing to have. The words in red are what Jesus said. Good luck and God bless you.

i have this new boyfriend, who i've been dating for a month. but recently my ex texted me, and i saved his number in my phone under a girls name. so that i could text constantly while i was with my boyfriend and he wouldnt think it was suspicious. well yesterday we went to the movies and my ex asked me back out, and my current boyfriend read it and dumped me. he said he knew it was a guy, even though i called the girl who's name i used, and i told her to help me out. but he doesnt believe me and he broke up with me and he called me a hoe. he gave me a ring in the beggining and he even took that away. he doesnt really have proof that i cheated on him though.. do you think that he might come back to me? i really need help cause i love him alot and i messed up big time. You never should have lied to him! You should have been honest with him. It would have saved you a lot trouble. Probably he will not come back to him because you broke his trust. You should have never talked to your ex if you really like your boyfriend! That can only lead to bad things. You should try to talk to him and tell him you're sorry. Let him know that you know you messed up. Good luck

Hey, i hope there is someone who can help me and give good advice about my cat Flea.
Flea was a stray kitten and was in very bad shape when we found him on the street. He hardly had any hair and was such a little scruff ball, that's why we named him Flea. Shortly after we took him in he became this playfull, cute little friendly kitten who loved playing hide and seek, and would basically play with anything we gave him. He grew a beautiful coat of pitch black fur and became shiny and fluffy.
Then about 1½ years later we took in another kitten who we though was a female, because that's what we were told, and were none the wiser.
Flea and Joker were fine with eachother almost instantly, but then as time went by, Flea started to become very unfriendly towards Joker.
Joker is extremely playful and very lovable, and just wants to play with Flea all the time, but Flea keeps attacking him.
Flea has changed towards us as well and won't even come near us anymore. When we try to give him attention and play with him he hisses at us and runs away. He spends most of his time under the couch or outside.
This has seriously broken my heart, because i love him so much and i really don't know what to do to get him back to normal again.

It sounds like maybe he is feeling left out or unloved(even though it isn't true). You need to try to spend some one on one time with Flea to let him know that no one has/is goin to replace him. He needs alot of T.L.C.. Also spend one on one time with Joker to insure he doesn't feel left out. It may take a little time but in the end it will hopefully be worth it. Good luck with your kitties.

well im really into this guy weve startd talkn febuary 11 but we made it official on the 20 and yesterday 03/08/09 was my first time over his house and we had a great time he told me that his heart was beating fast and that he couldnt breath and im a junior and he is a senior in high school and i think im falling head over heels for him but im scared because he is going to college please tell me what i should do (link)

You have to be open and honest with him. Tell him how you feel. If you don't you may regret it down the road. If he really likes you he will listen and work things out. Communication is key in making a relationship work and/or last. Good luck hope everything works out.

Ok. I have been struggling with my weight and self-image for almost 6 years now. I am going to college in the August (FALL 2009) and want to know if anyone knows of a good diet/workout regimen(sp) that seems to be working or that has worked for them. Im trying to lose about 50 pounds... and FAST. So any good ideas is appreciated. =]

Congrats on wanting to change your life. But, there is no quick fix on weight loss. It is a process that takes time and effort. I recently lost 30 lbs. and it took almost two years for that. Working out is not something you can do to lose weight and then quit because in the end you will gain the weight right back plus some. Diets don't work!! Watch what you eat, cut out most sugar(you have to have some to live), cut out caffeinated drinks, drink plenty of water(this really helped me). Eat a filling breakfast. Breakfast is key in giving you the energy you need throughout your day. If you start to feel hungry grab a piece of sugar free gum. It has few calories so it's good for you and your teeth. Gum is said to curb your appetite. I would start out exercising 15 minutes a day, 3 times a week. Then gradually step it up. I would incorporate cardio into your workout(running, cycling, kick boxing, etc.). The more you sweat the better. It may hurt and you may want to quit but don't. Because in the end you will see just how worth it all that pain was. Weight liftin (even if it's just 5lbs.) is effective. Lunges and squats help tone thighs and butt. You really have to find what works best for you. Don't give up and you will succeed! Good luck with your weight loss.

I feel like I constantly eat. All day everyday. and I always feel hungry or when im bored Ill eat. I can see the how much my body has changed in the last couple months, and my body discusts me! I want to stop eating so much. I dont eat breakfast (no time to) at lunch i always get nachos a milk and a cookie. Then when I get home from track practice i eat like a ham sandwhich, usually a poptart and lately Ive been drinking diet soda instead of my usual water. How do I get that feeling or always being hungry to go away, I just eat way too much. Thanks (link)

You really should make time for a filling breakfast. It is important for giving you energy to start your day. Also you have to get in your head that just because you are bored you have to eat. It's a mind over matter thing. You should have a healthier lunch that fills you without over doing it. Water is a good thing to drink to help you lose weight. When you are bored and start feeling hungry grab you a piece of gum. It helps tame your appetite. It has few calories and you can get it sugar free so it's good for you and your teeth. Health experts suggest eating 6 meals a day(3 big healthy meals and 3 snacks). You could eat healthy snacks like apples or bananas in between meals. Good luck with this.

I think you should tell him. He needs to know how you are feeling. Tell him that you don't want this to ruin your friendship or anything but that you have feelings for him. If he doesn't like you then you can get closure and move on. If he does like you then you get what you want. You have to be open and honest with people you like or love. Communication is key. You should really talk to him and ask him. Communication is key in making any relationship work and last. You have to let him know just how you are feeling. Then, deal with what ever happens.

Let me start by saying that pills can be a dangerous thing to use when trying to lose weight. There are several things you could do to lose weight. You could cut out all caffeinated drinks and most of your sugar intake (you need some sugar to live). You should always have a filling breakfast. Health experts recommend eating 6 meals a day (3 main and 3 healthy snacks). Getting plenty of rest helps too. Exercise is key in losing weight. I would recommend starting out a 15 minutes 3 times a week and working your way up. Lunges and squats help tone thighs and butts. Weight lifting(even if it is 5 lbs.) will help tone arms. Get in a good cardio workout (running, cycling, or punching bag). It's always good to make your workout spontaneous because if your body gets use to doing the same workouts it will stop responding. With all of this you are sure to lose that 40 lbs or even more. Good luck with it. I know you can do it.

To stop bored snacking you must get in your head that just because you have nothing to do doesn't mean you should eat. It's a mind over matter thing. Instead of eating maybe you should chew on some gum. It's low in calories and you can get sugar free so it's good for you and your teeth. It won't be an easy habit to break, but with time I know you can do it!! Good luck!
