I saw this ad on TV about a cheap electric toothbrush for $15 and I've been thinking about buying it. I heard that electric toothbrushes are better for your teeth for some reason but then my friend said that they aren't and that they will damage the teeth. I am confused and don't know what to think. I don't want to damage my teeth. Which is best for my teeth? (link)

A toothbrush is meant to remove plaque and stimulate your gums so it's more about tecnique than the type of toothbrush you use. The good thing about manual is that you can feel how much pressure you're using. With an electrical toothbrush you can’t feel that as well. Applying too much pressure on your teeth can be very detrimental. It can wear away at the tooth enamel which in return can cause pain, sensitivity, and puts you at an increased risk of tooth decay.
The recommendation seems to be that if you prefer to use an electric toothbrush you should also get a pressure sensor to tell you how much pressure is too much.

When you're younger it means different things than when you become older. The dating process is to get to know each other and figure out whether you connect, are compatible, and see it as a long term thing. If you find all those things to be true then you form a relationship where you are totally committed to each other and no one else. I guess thats what you call "going out" (bf/gf)
If you don't then you either decide to cut contact or become friends depending on the type of connection you each feel.

my throat hurts! can you get STDs in your throat?
I might have done something i shouldn't have if you can because I gave my throat to a boy that I know has been around a LOT which is why I didn't give him anything else! But now I am in terrible throat/neck pain. All my friends say doing oral is safe and this can't be it.

Your friends are highly misinformed. Although it is less likely than through vaginal or anal it is still possible.
Here is a list of std's you can get from participating in oral sex.
*HIV
*Herpes
*HPV
*Gonorrhea which is very difficult to treat if in your throat and is likely for a woman to get from a man and very unlikely for a man to get from a woman.
*Chlamydia
*Syphilis which is extremely likely to be transmitted orally.
*Hepatitis B studies are still inconclusive. Unless it is oral to the anus and then it is very likely.
The majority of the time these STD's do not show any symptoms but it is possible that they will. You need to get tested anyways just to make sure. Get the FULL panel done.

I almost joined the airforce. I trained with them for awhile to see if it was for me before I signed but when you take your asvab it will inform you of the categories you are strongest in and then you can go from there. There are many many positions available though depending on whether you want to travel or not. I personally wanted to travel was going to be a physical therapist and get to travel on the helicopters to different camps and work with the soldiers. But they also had a position where I could have choosen not to travel and be stationed in one area to treat injuries so there are definitely options. I highly suggest the airforce though!

okay, ive had this for as long as i can remember. kind of embarrassing but i have this leaking of the vagina. i think it might be a yeast infection? but i have no idea because it doesnt itch at all...i was wondering if maybe its normal? it isnt alot but it is this kinda white stuff. that just comes out..not when im turned on. i dont know. any ideas before i make a trip to the doctor? For the longest time I thought something was wrong with me too but I learned it's completely normal and some girls have more discharge than others. If it ever becomes funny colored or smells bad or you itch and burn then something is wrong. Otherwise it's just a crap thing we girls have to put up with.

Im 14 going in to grade 10, and I really like this guy but hes really shy so i had to asked him out at the beging of summer. And he said sure. Then just walked away. So the next day i had to ask for his email adress. (He gave it to me but didnt even ask for mine) And i have emailed him on two diffrent occations to see if he wanted to go out but i got no respons back.(And its not like he is popular hes a geek and im popular he should want to go out with me)

Are they really that important? Reasons we should dominate: We carry the children. We can live without them whereas men would be completely lost without some form of a woman. We only have one head to think with so our decisions are not as biased. Plus women are more comforting and better at talking through issues with each other than men are. Studies have proven that as evolution goes on women have continued to be born more attractive while men have stayed the same..haha. Since recession hit 80% of jobs lost have been men. Females graduate college more often than men and in less time than it takes a male. Estrogen helps to fight off infections hence we have a stronger immune system. We live longer than men on average. Women are typically more cautious with their investment decisions and think longer term meaning we actually run business more efficiently. We can have multiple orgasms and multitask. There are many more but I think thats enough evidence for now :)

My boyfriend does not like to hold hands in public. He is not overly affectionate, or clingy, nor does he get jealous very easily.
All of these things are fine I dont normally mind, except the hand holding thing. I love holding hands, and in the 5 months we've been dating hes maybe held my hand twice.
It actually kind of bothers me because I almost feel like hes to ashamed of me to hold my hand.

My boyfriend is also not into pda. At first I felt the same way like he was ashamed but then I realized it had nothing to do with me or how much he cared. He simply just doesn't like pda and it makes him really uncomfortable so I dropped it. I would suggest you leave it alone. That is just his preference and I'm sure you would rather him feel comfortable. Remind yourself that he is with you because he wants to be and cares. As long as he is affectionate when you two are alone then nothing is wrong. Sometimes we have to give up things we enjoy doing to make our significant other more comfortable.

okay, i have a problem. there's this boy that i've had the biggest crush on ever since i met him. well he had a girlfriend starting in spring of '09 and back in september him and i were at our mutual friends' apartment. we were all drinking but before we started he was telling us how him and his girlfriend were on a break and he didn't think he could date her anymore (they had been having a lot of problems) anyways, we were drinking and he was being especially flirty towards me. one thing lead to another and we hooked up, but i stopped and told him that i felt bad and that i was trying to help him by stopping. then he proceeded to tell me he didn't know what i wanted. this confused me to no end. but later on i found out that he told his girlfriend the next day that he hooked up with someone (but i don't know if he told her it was me) she said she liked him too much to let it affect them, so they went back to dating for about 2 weeks and then broke up for good. they are still broken up, but i feel bad. i don't know whether or not i should apologize to her, but i don't want to in case she didn't know it was me because that would open another can of worms. They were on a break meaning they planned on getting back together so it is slightly concerning that he would hook up with you. That is something you should think about if you want to date him. But something else to think about is that he told her about it which means he's honest and probably someone you can trust. That 2 weeks was just them trying one last time. It's obviously not going to work out and you two like each other so go for it. You have no obligation to tell her it was you or apologize. I know you feel badly about it but that would cause unneeded conflict and it is not your place. Take things slow. Hang out. Make sure he's someone you would consider being with long term. If not then it's not even worth it.

I have found a lot of babysitting jobs on www.care4hire.com. Set up an account there and you can find families in your area that need sitters and families can seek you out as well. It's a pretty decent site and I've had better luck there than hanging up flyers or handing out business cards. Good Luck!

Bad posture runs in my family. My mom's shoulder is one higher than the other, and she constantly slouches. Ive noticed over the past year, i have been becoming the same way. I cant even stand up or sit up straight because it hurts. My shoulders are slouched, and ive already gone to the doctor to get it checked out. They said i dont have scoliosis (spelled it wrong), but how am i supposed to improve my posture if it hurts? (link)

It takes core muscles to sit up straight and repeated slouching is making those muscles weaker because you aren't using them. It hurts because by sitting up straight you are forcing your back and abdomin muscles to work when you aren't using them often. It's strenuous. It would be like someone who has never done running in their life trying to run a 13 mile marathon without training. The last answer is correct. Yoga. Yoga helps strengthen your back and core muscles. You can also begin doing core exercises on your own. Once you begin to strengthen those muscles it will not hurt to sit up straight. It takes practice and a lot of reminder.

You both may go to Planned Parenthood. You can choose what you want to get tested. HIV testing is free and consists of a swab in the mouth. Results are ready in 20 minutes. Paperwork takes about 15 minutes. If it is busy it may take them up to 45 minutes to call you back but the actual testing take literally 5-10 minutes. They ask you wait there for 15 minutes after your tests are finished to receive the results of your HIV test. A full panel (which is recommended) is $189. Like $230 with tax or something like that which is cheaper than going to a doctor. They get a urine sample to test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. A blood test is used for Syphilis and Herpes type 1 and 2. Your results are ready anywhere from 5-14 business days but tend to be ready in 5-7 days. I know it's expensive but it is definitely worth it!

Okay, every night, I have the same dream. It started about two weeks and has never happened before. In the dream, I am in India speaking to a child named Boujeet. It always goes bad when his eyes turn black and he opens his mouth. I try running but get no where. Everytime I run, I trip. Oddly, he drops dead right before he catches me. I personally would take that to mean that something in your life is wrong and affecting you negatively and because you have not identified it and fixed it you are continuously feeling the negative effects of it hence the black abyss you fall in to. Try and think about things in your life that could be producing the negativity and fix it.

Definitely during an intense making out session. But only if you have discussed it and he is into that. The neck is too obvious and common place plus guys use that to show off hinting they got some. It's considered more skanky than intimate. Choose a more personal place such as his chest, stomach, or pelvic area. He most likely found your wet paint situation cute. You have just paved your way to a conversation starter. Because hes shy he will most likely need you to talk the majority of the time. You are both in art appreciation so creativity is most likely a common trait. Approach him and ask what kind of art he likes or what his major is (assuming you're in college)
If he likes to draw or paint or something like that ask him if he would work with you on a project you have started for fun. Like painting a canvas or drawing a mural. Guys like outgoing, confident, and slightly forward girls so if art is not a common interest approach him after class and say you think hes cute and then ask if he would like to grab lunch, coffee, or ice cream with you. (depending on what he likes)
Seeing as hes shy your best bet in getting him to talk is to ask him questions about his likes/dislikes etc. If he seems more like an uncomfortable shy type then plan a lunch with a couple close friends and ask if he'd like to join you guys. Sometimes that breaks the ice and leads to more private hanging out time. Good luck and just be confident :)
