different between just dating and going out can someone explain to me the difference of like a couple that is only going on dates and not together and one that is going out as in boyfriend girlfriend? i dont understand it, help?

My understanding of it is that the labels boyfriend/girlfriend make a couple exclusive. They don't date other people, just each other and they're commited. People who aren't together but are going out while they may not being seeing other people still have the room to do it because they're realtionship isn't commited. ]
When you're younger it means different things than when you become older. The dating process is to get to know each other and figure out whether you connect, are compatible, and see it as a long term thing. If you find all those things to be true then you form a relationship where you are totally committed to each other and no one else. I guess thats what you call "going out" (bf/gf)
If you don't then you either decide to cut contact or become friends depending on the type of connection you each feel. ]
