But why am I doing this? As a woman who used to be part of the dating world, I remember the joys, frustrations and struggles of it all. But now as a woman in love, I'm also finding myself immersed in a new world of happiness and companionship (lol however the struggles and frustrations rear their head a bit)
Anyhoo, I'm used to dishing out advice to my single and taken friends, family, and co-workers and they suggested that perhaps someone else could benefit from this as well.
So here I am... a healthy listener who just wants to the world to be content with itself
advice
please look at my previous question before answering, thanks!

okay, so now i want to do my term paper on something different, but interesting. my friend gave me a good idea, like "what is skateboarding?". but thats what shes doing already. shes gonna put down how it started, the basic tricks, etc.
so does anyone have any interesting topic like that?
like relating to..
- music
- hobbies
- clothes
things a 13/f girl would find interesting
You could do something fun like the origination of fashion shows/super models and how they've evolved to the way we see fashion now. You could discuss how it started with European women needing an outlet of expression and often the latest fashions were simply worn to parties and later raved about in newspapers. Of course do more research but it could be quite fun to see how we started out from there to the runways and catwalks we have now
Good luck!

I just got a bible as a present, it's an NIV version. It's purple and green and soo cute, and I'm feeling...inspired. I really want to start sitting down and studying, reading, whatever you want to call it.
My family has a strong Christian background, but we don't go to church or anything like that.
It's such a big book! So...where do I start?
In the back, there are some lists of versus about Jesus' healings and things like that.
I just don't know where to begin. Some versus in the New Testament are in red. Should I start with those?
Do I even read the whole Bible word for word, in order?! Gahhh! I'm so overwhelmed. Please, help!
What I found made it easiest to get through my bible was buying a devotional book. It lasts for the whole year, and it outlines various topics for everyday living and the bible books, chapters, and verses that apply to them. And other than that, it certainly doesn't hurt to just start at the beginning
Good luck!
i'm 17/f and i'd like to do something nice for my boyfriend. not like take him anywhere.. but something very plain & simple to show him how much i love and appreciate him, just because. i made him a cd of all the songs that reminded me of him and then put pictures of us as the case covers and he loved it. also i bought him his favorite movie and watch it with him whenever he wants.
something plain and simple like this, yet will mean a lot to a guy.
any ideas would be appreciated! thanks!
Something my BF loves is when I get some tickets for his favorite sports event. I know tickets are sometimes really pricey but what's awesome about most arenas is they have what are usually called "cheap seats" and they can range from sometimes only $6-17 dollars each- which is pretty awesome. You can still see the game and spend time together too.
Hope that helped!
okay so i'm 17 years old 5'3 in height and weigh 120 pounds. im not fat at all or anything but during the summer i weighed 110. i was pretty skinny and fit mostly because i was really active and constantly busy! but since school started and with it getting cold i'm not as active and i probably eat more and ive gained 10 pounds! most people say they cant even tell, but i can tell that my thighs are bigger. i cant fit in my size 1 jeans anymore! but i would like to lose some of the fat that ive gained, get down to about 112. anyways i just got a membership at the gym and i plan to run 30 minutes everyday. i also just got a new job hostessing which i plan to be working a lot so im sure ill be a lot more active than ive been! i probably wont cut junk out completely, but im going to try to only have it maybe every other day (dont tell me its unhealthy im not stupid, but hey im a kid!) if i keep this up how long do you think it will take to lose 7 pounds?!
It sounds like a healthy plan so I don't see you having any trouble losing weight within about a month or maybe two. Here's a tip, while you don't have to cut out all fun food, if you notice you drink a lot of pop- simply cutting that out of your diet would result in a major weight different.
Good luck!

Alright. Soo, I don't shave "down there" or anything.
If a guy was to finger me, would he be be turned off? Like, would he think it's gross, or freak out, or be totally repulsed or something?
I'm not saying a guy is going to do that to me. I am only curious.
Actually this answer is going to be quite confusing, because guys are sooooo different. And quite frankly each prefers something different. The best course of action to follow is to keep everything trim and clean. Don't go crazy with waxing and shaving. And if you happen to meet someone special then over the course of your honest relationship, his preference will be revealed and you can decide what to do from there.
I have been with my husband for 10 years. He was an alcoholic when I met him but over the years he slowed down but picked up other habits. On January 14, 2009 his friend passed away from a heart attack he was only 32. My husband did not take it very well. My husband was on pain pills pretty bad but quit for 4 days after his friend died. Well he started acting weird and now he is on pills worse than ever and meaner than hell. Everyday not just 1 day a week he says he wants to die he wishes he wouldn't wake up in the morning. I'm over the negative vibes he is given off. I also have a 8 year old and a 4 year old and I don't think they deserve to see this behavior in thier dad. His behavior is totaly unacceptable right? How should I make him leave and be okay with it?
It's absolutely no question that his behavior unacceptable especially because he is in the presence of children who don't deserve a second of this. What your husband needs is counseling and perhaps even some sort of out patient rehab treatment. These would vastly improve his life, and the relationship he has with you and your kids. but this is something you should press him on because right now he's wasting his life on something very destructive and unproductive. So it sounds like you're going to have to give him some ultimatums. If his children are important to him then he'll do anything to be the father he should be and not the one they have now
Good luck.
I guess this should be titled 'i think i'm too inactive' ....
i'm 14 (a girl), and the only exercise i do is pilates once a week for an hour. my school is a good two boroughs away (i live in ny) so it makes it difficult to commute back home in the dark two hours after school ends- plus my parents are uncomfortable with that as well.
i've just never really been that into sports but i always try and push myself into doing something active- two years ago i took ballet, a year ago i took swimming, but i ended up dropping both of them because i ended up disliking ballet, and i began getting dizzy in the pool.
i know this sounds like a little girl's dream, but I've always loved, and wanted to figure skate- the thing is that the coaches in the place that is the closest to my house are expensive for only half an hour. Even if i did that, that's only half an hour of exercise more a week and probably wouldn't make me feel much different, right?
does anyone have any suggestions as to how to become more active (please bear in mind i live in the city and can't go for elaborate bike rides, and it's too cold to go running- at least right now)
Well the simple answer is we can never be too active so there is always some we can do close to home to keep our blood flowing and our activity up. Granted when it gets warms, it would be excellent to start running, it's the perfect way to build strength and the more you do the better you get at it. But because it's cold right now where I live too, I absolutely understand the need to find things to do to keep active. And I think it's excellent that you do pilates once a week but how about more than that at home? You learn the moves in your class so you can practice them at home, and there are also tons of instructional books and DVDs to guide you. Another great option is yoga, it's a great way to keep the body alert. And if your parents are supportive and want to also take part in exercise, then a treadmill is an awesome way to have running right in your home. They are slightly pricey but at the same time they have a good life span. It's great that you want to keep healthy,I'm sure you'll find a great outlet
GOOD LUCK!!!
I heard from a few different sources that milk can cause acne/breakouts. I used to drink warm milk before bed and noticed I would wake up with a few pimples, so I stopped and the problem seemed to stop. Does anyone know if it was the milk, and if this milk myth is really true?
Technically yes, simply because humans were never really meant to drink cow milk... basically because we're not cows. And while milk has some benefits such as vitamins that increase energy... unfortunately they are chalk full of hormones and chemicals that keep the milk fresh for an extended period of time. So I would test out laying off the milk for a while, try drinking herbal tea instead before bed... many flavors and makes you sleep better also
Good luck!
Sorry so long but you have to know the story Please read and help! Ok I am 13 year old girl and I really need some help. I dont have long so here it goes. There is this boy in my class and i have known him for a while but never really like liked him, now I do. Now my BFF is in my class too and I found out about a month ago that he likes her! She also likes him! Now we (BFF, Me, Him and a few other friends) went to the mall one Saturday for Bff's B-day and I spent the night at her house that night, she later told us that he is annoying because he is always nervous and he is never close to her and she has to "drag" him around and hes not "romantic", she said she doesnt really like him any more but I am NOT sure about that. No one knows I like him. Now my BFF has almost been missing from school for about a week and me and him have been flirting A LOT. We have a great time together and laugh and smile so much. All this week I have been feeling more and more that he might like me and i think he does but i am not sure. I will be with him all day Today and Saturday (tomorrow). So what should I do I dont want to ruin my friendship but I dont want to go without him knowing. Hurry I really need some advice!
This is a tough one. But it just takes asking yourself one question: whose relationship is worth more to you. Yes you're 13 so there are more important people that are going to come into your life and enrich it in ways you never thought possible. But for now, ask yourself the question: who would I want by my side long term? Can you see yourself being with this guy for a long time? is he someone you could see yourself loving? Or is your friend and really good one and you see yourself and her sticking through thick and thin?
I know it's tough but you'll know in your heart what is right to do. But seriously don't stress too much about it, whatever you choose it will not be the end of the world so just remember that
Good luck!
is there any jobs in tampa FL that is not cooking, cleaning, walking dogs, watering plants or cleaning pools also no raper's homos or people with a criminal record.
Unfortunately a lot of 13 year old's can't get many jobs because most laws require a minimum age of 15 before you can start working with currency (ie. retail work). but when I was 13, I babysat, and before you turn up your nose, I made a lot of money doing it. Think about it, get paid for a couple hours, to watch over some children while their parents get to grocery shop, go to the movies, etc etc. And it's awesome for your schedule, you can turn down jobs if you're super busy. All you need are some flyers/business cards, tell your parents you're interested (they know tons of adults), and just present yourself as a mature and responsible teenager. Good luck!!!
i have a lazy eyelid and i hate it. i skip school pictures and am never in the yearbook because it shows in pictures the most. but it is getting worse and i want it fixed. my parents dont really want me to get surgery, but i was wondering if surgery is safe and a good idea. also does anyone know any other ways to fix the problem?
Lazy eyes are usually caused by a mis-firing of messages from the brain to one of the eyes. There are two ways that doctors try to assist those with this problem. One is eye glasses, with a special prescription for the "lazy" eye often helps and there have been many benefits to exercising the "lazy" eye by wearing an eyepatch on the "good" eye and allowing the "lazy" one to compensate and get stronger. But I'm assuming you don't want to wear a patch to school so there are also eye drops, I forget the name of them, that dilate the pupil of the well eye and also allows the "lazy" one to compensate and gain acuity. Hope that helps!
i might want to do a piece from it. the problem is though its difficult for me to understand how to act in certain parts and what the mood is because it was written so long ago.
do you have any idea of a piece from romeo and juliet that would be easy for me to know how to act?
Actually yes
The "Romeo, Romeo where for art thou Romeo..." Juliet's soliloquy is an excellent choice. The emotion is easy, just joyful love. You can watch Baz Lurmann's version of it for reference. And the best part is that any gender can do it because that's what Shakespeare did in his day anyways

I've recently begun to think about my future, and I figure that I'm becoming about the age when I can get a job. So, I've decided I'm going to start making a rough draft of what I want my future to look like and how much it will cost so I can know what my general goal is. I've already done a bit of research, but I'd rather have other opinions and facts to compare what I'm thinking too. So, here it goes:
-I am going to begin studying for my drivers permit as soon as I turn 15 so I'll only have to wait 1 more year to get my license. This being said, I'm going to start my saving for a car. What is the average insurance cost for a 16 year old girl? Also, any recommendations on the type of car to get? I don't care about fancy cars, as long as it gets me from point A to point B and has good mileage.
-I already know I want to go to college. My previous semester (freshman year) GPA was 3.507 and I'm working on raising it in order to get a good scholarship. I also play volleyball and I'm hoping that will help me get into college on a scholarship as well. I was thinking as a career choice that I could be an author, graphic designer, architect, or illustrator, but I have yet to narrow down that list. So, I probably need to go to an arts school, but I'd still like to have a good degree and whatnot. Any college or scholarship reccomendations?
-Last, for now, I would like to have a rhinoplasty surgery (Nose job) when I get older. This may seem kind of silly, but it really means a lot to me and no one is going to change my mind. So, does anyone know (for a FACT) of any good surgeons in a nice, clean facility with an experienced staff? I'm looking for cheap, but I want it to be a good job, so if it must be expensive, I'll pay. The thing about this goal is I don't know at what time I should get it. I mean, I know I'll probably get it sometime before I'm out of college, but I'm not sure when would be the best timing.
Those are 3 of my top goals for now, though I'm sure I'll probably add more some time later. Please do not critisize my desicions, I have already made up my mind. I would love ANY advice you could possibly give me on ANYTHING that might help and I will rate. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!!!!!
Okay so this is going to down and dirty and honest.
1. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of jobs for 14 year old. Malls, grocery stores, and basically anywhere that deals it money exchanging hands, have laws that restrict their hiring around 16 years of age.
2. Insurance for teenagers is especially expensive, because their driving is so unpredictable but you'll notice it'll get cheaper as you age. Good starter cars however are usually Honda Civics because they're under 15 grand and really safe.
3. Rhinoplasty eh? To be honest I don't know any good surgeons because I've never had the need to research them. However I can say that most responsible doctors (the ones that do good work) will not preform a rhinoplasty on a girl your age until you're in your 20s because your nose never really stops growing.
Anyways I love your ambition, I can totally see you getting a scholarship and heading to college and reaching most of your goals. Just remember not to stress about it. There will be plenty of time for that later
Good luck!

Whoa whoa whoa! What's the rush? Are either of these guys moving to be foreign exchange students in Alaska any time soon? You make this seem as if you don't choose soon then both will poof and disappear.
Take your time, you're obviously torn about your decision so why don't you invest in talking to these guys more. Learn as much as you can and trust me, the more you get to know them, the easier your choice will be.
And don't be worried that you'll choose the wrong one. You're 13, you've got like 20 years of guy picking ahead of you!
alright well im auditioning for a performing arts school and i really want a dramatic monolouge. preferbly nothing from shakespeare and its got to be from a play
It saddens me to think you want to stray from the perfect dramatics of Shakespeare, however the best alternative I can think of it "Waiting for Godot"- it's a Samuel Beckett play and one of the best pieces for drawn out monologues I can think of. Good luck!
my boyfriend and i have had sex before, and i never noticed until yesterday that its really difficult for him to get hard.
i did everything in my will power that i could. nothing worked.
i just recently started giving him handjobs and he stays hard for a few minutes and then it goes down. it confuses me and frustrates him. i was wondering about viagra, or any other "boner medicine"
is it over the counter or prescription? and also, if its prescription, how am i supposed to get some because my boyfriend and i are both minors. :\
help?
After working in a doctor's office, I can tell you that this definitely requires a prescription. So your boyfriend's gonna have to gulp down some pride and see a doctor. He can go to any walk in clinic, and even request a male doctor to make things easier. But I'm feeling a little grim when I say that the doctor may not prescribe viagra for your BF considering he's a minor and possible health problems that can arise. However doctor's are a fountain of knowledge and one can most definitely give you guys the options you need. Good luck!
