i am a teenager and i really want to dye my hair but my mom refuses to allow it unless i can find one that washes out and isnt that bad for my hair. i have always wanted brown hair. i had gold hair when i was little but now its kinda dirty blonde because i have natural sun bleaching or whatever. i was reading something about some brands you found at wal mart and i was wondering if you would suggest them or any other brands that wash out and not grow out you know? so thank you. (link)
Any of the temporary hair dyes are generally good to use, because they last from 6 weeks to 2 months or so, and they're usually pretty subtle, which is probably what your mom would prefer. My only piece of real advice is this: DO NOT GET THE TEMPORARY DYE THAT REQUIRES YOU TO BLEACH YOUR HAIR BEFORE DYEING IT. If you do this, after the dye fades in a few weeks, you'll be left with bleached blonde/gray/yucky color. Believe me, I've made this mistake. Other than that, look for the brands that use no harmful ammonia- that can cause your hair to break. Hope I helped!

I got my industrial pierced about two months ago and one of the holes will not stay healed. Sometimes it gets a red blister-looking lump that pops up right where the piercing is. It doesn't hurt incredibly bad but it's annoying because it doesn't look good. I really don't want to take it out because i paid 70 to get it pierced and plus i like it. Anyways I clean it with peroxide and alcohol and the red bump still stays.

What should i do? (link)
I had my industrial done back in January, and it took about three months to completely heal, which is normal. One product I used was called H2Ocean, a purified salt water solution spray (you can actually make it yourself. Boil some water, then once it's distilled, disolve sea salt into it). The salt actually helps with those annoying red bumps.

Industrials and belly button piercings, I've heard (and can back up from my experiences since I have both) are two of the piercings that take the longest time to heal. Just keep it clean, try out the salt solution, and stop using peroxide and alcohol- it can dry out the area and leave it more irritated. Hope this helps!

I am a female in my mid twenties. One of my best friends is dating my boss's ex boyfriend. My boss and her ex were together for at least 5 years, and they are still really good friends. My boss's ex knows me because I sometimes hang out with my best friend and him. I know that my boss knows her ex is dating someone new, but I do not know if my boss knows that I am a really good friend of this person. My gut tells me she probably has a good idea. I feel like I am being deceitful to my boss by not acknowledging the fact that my best friend is dating her ex. I am going to be working on a big project with my boss soon, and I am afraid it is going to feel like there is a giant elephant in the room when we work together. Should I talk to her about my friend's relationship with her ex or just keep my mouth shut? (link)
Personally, I wouldn't mention it. Your boss's love life is between herself and her ex, and I would guess she'd prefer keeping her personal life seperate from her professional life. It may seem like you're stuck in the middle, but you have to consider that if she DOES know, as you suspect she does, she probably hasn't mentioned it because she doesn't want to talk about it. You may not know how she feels or what she and her ex went through, and it's a very personal subject to bring up. What if someone you work with started talking about your ex? Wouldn't your reaction be thinking "It's none of your business"? Just a thought.

I broke up with my long distance ex-boyfriend 3 weeks ago. I've decided no contact with him is best for me to get over him, so we haven't spoken in 2 weeks so far.

The 1st week was a little hard, 2nd week easier, and this 3rd week's been going good. Until today.

I found out today he is now in a new relationship. It's been 3 weeks!! Well, 2 since we talked.

I was doing soo well, not crying over him/thinking about him as much..and then this shocker happens. It's like I'm right back at square one. But I left him because he treated me like crap, and I KNOW I deserve better. But we dated for 10 months, and knew each other for 1 year. And he's with another girl in 3 weeks?! He told me his ex-girl before me took him 2 years to get over!!!

I just need advice. I REALLY WANT to get over him, I know he's not the person for me, but obviously I still care for him. I know it takes time. I think not talking to him helps, the only thing is I still sometimes go on his facebook and twitter. (Facebook is how I found out about the new gf, which everyone commented on congratulating him :/) Should I block these websites and just force myself to rid my brain of everything that involves him? Please, any advice would help. It's like a slap in the face knowing that he moved on fast, so this just adds more hurt to my heart. Thanks. (link)
First of all, if he's in another relationship so soon, it's very possible this new girl is a rebound. That should be a little comforting, at least.

Second of all, I went through something similar when my ex and I broke up after dating for over a year. Because we have mutual friends, it's very hard to avoid seeing what's happening in his life. But I figured out the best way to handle it. I deleted him from my friends on facebook. In that way, he's out of sight, out of mind. It may be hard, but honestly I'm glad I did that, and I think you might be happier that way as well :) Good luck hon!

this might be kinda long so bear with me :)

i have just realized that the main reason why i dont get along with girls my age and dont even get any of them, is not because of me, its because of how they are. i realized that american girls are pretty much sluts, stereotypical, materialistic, insincere, self-centered, and only care about a guy with eitehr a full-on sixpack, or a guy with a ton of money. (Sorry, american women, that's just my opinion.)

i know this might not matter to me, or it shouldnt, but im only 16 years old and in high school, but i've dont some traveling to different countries to see what its like, and what people are like. I went to thailand last summer and all i can say about the people, wow. The men are so patient and calm and peaceful, the women are even the same. they are sincere, always smiling, and always helpful instead of just giving you attitude and scoffing in your face and rolling their eyes.
I went to england and the people there are so civilized. its so different that its unbelievable. The brits dont talk out loud and dont have attitude and dont confront random people in the park about whats bothering them. Its really comforting to be around them, same with Canadians.

i KNOW that you guys might think im being superficial, and kinda stupid like (everybodys different, nationality does change anything) but teh truth is, it does. All of the TV shows in america like, the real world, jersey shore, rock of love, and all of those reality shows influence american girls to dress like the people they see on tv, AND, act like them. Where as in England or parts in Canada, the tv doesnt broadcast so many graphic things as they do in America, And its not only TV, its the radio, music, movies, etc.

i'm actually considering moving to england or to ontario after i graduate high school next year for this reason, just to be in a betetr surrounding, instead of being scared to death in my southern california home wondering if some crook is gonna break into my car.

Again, SORRY to you people who think this is directed to you, its just my opinion. i know this was long, but i appreciate some advice, and some comments. And dont try to talk me out of moving out of the country, ive thought long and hard about it and made up my mind. Thank you! (link)
If you think all American women are like this, and if you think you can stereotype them all this way, you will have a hard time finding any american woman that will put up with you. Move to another country.

i think im addicted to weed.

i always need it, crave it want it but yet its not an actual addictive drug....

i love smoking in the morning at like 6 am before school.
and smoking thorugh the day.
and before i go to sleep
i just really love it

the down part is i eat SO MUCHHHHHHH from it

and i waste so much money.

how do i quit? its so hard for me?
and is it such a bad habbit to have? (link)
First of all, to the person who answered this before me... weed is not a physically harmful drug in of itself. There are no cases of marijuana killing anybody. It's just as dangerous to become addicted to video games. Becoming addicted to ANYTHING is harmful.

ALSO MARIJUANA IS NOT ADDICTIVE on it's own. Any feeling you have of being addicted to it is purely mental- you think you need it. There are no cases of withdrawal from people when they stop smoking. You just need to get motivated. You won't get the shakes. You won't hallucinate. You are not addicted. The only thing that you need in order to stop smoking is to just have some willpower.

Also, I consider smoking anything a bad habit, but it's a personal opinion.

16/f

i masturbate often but always by clitoral stimulation and never by putting anything in my vagina.
im a virgin and im scared to masturbate that way because i dont want to hurt myself.
help? thanks! (link)
Whatever you do, don't do something that scares you or makes you uncomfortable. Learn a way to love your body without being afraid of it. When the time comes, your body will be ready. If you've found a method of masturbation that works for you (since there is no real SINGLE RIGHT way to do it), don't push yourself into it. Plenty of people masturbate without penetration.

15/F.

ive gotten into the habit of smoking weed ALOT. like i need it now, and ive told myself im going to quit but when i come around it i have to have it . But the other day, i was in p.e and i had to run a mile, i couldnt even get halfway i felt like i was going to pass out . i go up the stairs at school and i still get out of breath . is this normal? oh and where can you get the detox stuff? Thanks :] (link)
You don't NEED weed. Marijuana isn't addictive. Unless it's laced with addictive substances. So you could just be imagining that you need it. or you just want it badly. Either way, stopping should not be hard to do if you really try. And any kind of smoking does damage to your lungs, and can make it harder for you to breathe normally.

Over the summer, this guy and i were friends with benefits. i know friends with benefits are never a good thing but anyway.. a friend of mine told me he had been dating someone. So i stopped talking to him to get him out of the picture. Well, i haven't talked to him in about 2 months and he texted me tonight saying that he missed me and how he wanted me to come over soon. I don't miss him, just doing things with him. I asked him about his girlfriend and he just said "yeaaah we can keep it between us" so i said umm ill think about it. so should i do it? i don't know the girl at all that hes dating so i wouldnt feel bad at all about that. (link)
This SAME THING happened to me, and it broke my heart completely and ruined a solid year of my life. You must know that he is planning to use you. And he won't leave his gf for you. They NEVER do. And look at how he's cheating w/his girlfriend.. he might have TONS of other girls he sleeps with and does stuff with that you don't know about. Since he has no problem screwing over his gf, he'll have NO problem lying to you or hurting you. I'd hate to see anyone go through the same thing I went through. Please, I'm begging you, stay away from him.

This guy sounds so much like the guy I used to be involved with, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same douchebag.

Please be safe and careful.

im breaking out alot recently on my chin and was wondering if anythings really good for that kind of area...im using proactiv and it works really good everywhere except the chin area...any advice? thanks! (link)
One of the reasons you may be breaking out is your toothpaste.. did you recently start using a new kind or a new tube? I used to break out around my mouth and chin area and then I realized it was cuz I was using a new kind of Crest. It's just an idea. lol.

what does it mean when someone says that you are in need of a short stop and a sudden drop? (link)
It's a phrase that means being hung, like the stick figure from hangman. lol. Hope I helped!

Hey everyone, I have an experience poll for you.
I'm 21 f, if it matters. I'm thinking about getting a tattoo. She was concerned about me being allergic to the ink, or something similar. She has some crazy allergies, so she's rightfully concerned that I'll react badly.
As far as I'm aware, I'm only allergic to pollen, certain types of mold, and cold weather (last one's kind of a joke). I'm not even allergic to cats. First, what are the chances of that actually happening?
My boss at work gave me the business card of the people who do his tattoos (he has something like sixteen, all over his body). I looked them up, and they have all sorts of medical licenses, and sterilization practices, so I think they'd be fine.
The tattoo I'm thinking of is maybe two inches in length, one inch in width, and would go at the base of my neck, where that bone is. It's a butterfly made out of music symbols (treble clef upper wings, bass clef lower wings, crescendo symbol for the body, whole note for the head, another crescendo symbol for the antennae) and some tribal-looking lines extending on either side.
I seem to have developed a problem with permanence recently, and I'm a little wary of getting this done because it would, in fact, be permanent. I want to, but I don't...I'm sure you know how it is. I'd love to do something that forces me to get over this phobia I'm developing, and this seems like the best way to do it.
Anyone have any experience with...well, ANY of this?
Thanks! (link)
As far as the allergies go, the only allergy I know of people having as far as ink goes is an allergy to nickel. If you've warn jewelry with nickel in it and it's made your skin break out and itch, (necklaces, belt buckles, an earring, rings, etc..) then you may have a reaction to blue and green inks. I have a nickel allergy but my tattoo has blue in it, and I never had a reaction to it. when you go to fill out your paperwork with your tattoo artist, the form will ask if you have any allergies. the artist him/herself would be the best person to ask about this.

And personally, I love the idea of your tattoo- it's very original and it sounds like it would be beautiful. But my advice about permanence is- don't get it done unless you're totally sure you want it done. If you think you might regret it, you probably will. I designed my tattoo out a year before I got it done, just to make sure it was what I really wanted. Remember that tattoo removal is an extremely expensive and painful process.

Hope I helped!

what were your senior quotes? im trying to find a good one (link)
lol. mine was "life is a lot like toast. sometimes it's burnt, sometimes it's buttered, and sometimes it's french"

I am known for being the class clown.

where can i get some CHEAP fun punk styles...right now i'm not punk and i'd kinda like to be...so if anyone has ideas or links that'd rock thankyou so much... (link)
you can't really just decide you want to be punk rock. You have to do your research and feel it in your gut- it's a way of life. DO NOT SHOP AT HOT TOPIC. It's a corporate, capalistic company (Owned, as a matter of fact, by Old Navy.), and that is exactly the opposite of real punk.

First step- listen to some punk music and see if you like it. If it's not your thing, there's really no point in "going punk". If you want to check out some bands, drop me a line in my inbox and I'll give you some good names.

Second Step- provided you like punk music, do your research. punk isn't about dressing a certain way. It's about being yourself. Thy punk "style", is, when it comes down to it, a big middle finger to what society figures is the normal way to dress. If you're gonna deck yourself out in hot topic gear, you might as well be a billboard promoting the kind of misconception society wishes to show the world. They want people to think that that's punk rock. When, in reality, punk rock is about the heart and soul..

I could go on for hours, but I won't. drop me a line if you want to know more.

Where can I find cheap ripped jeans? Links would be great. (link)
Thrift stores!! I always buy my jeans there. I can usually get a few pairs of jeans for a total of under 10 bucks. Sometimes they're already ripped, but you could always rip them yourself. And since they're so cheap, don't be afraid of ruining them.

ok, so im 13 & my mom said that i could finally wear make up! im like really excited.. but im not sure what exacatly i should wear, cuz i dont want to look slutty or like really over do it ya know, cuz i dont think that i will wear make up every day... but my mom wont let me wear a lot of it, so it needs to be suttle, but nocitable, if you get what i mean...
I have redish blond hair, and im fairly tan but a little pale.. i have freckles across my cheeks and nose and i have hazel eyes..
anything will help!!
many many thanks in advance!!!!~ (link)
To start off I'd choose what colors go best with you. An auburn/light brown eyeliner would go really nicely with your hair and complexion (black eyeliner usually looks too over-the-top for redheads). As far as eyeshadows, try a variety of subtle, light colors, like a light purple or blue. You have loads of opportunities to experiment with what colors will go well. If you're going to use foundation, be sure to blend it around your neck, so it doesn't look like you're wearing a mask, lol.

I hope you find the right combination!

Hmm, okay in order to make my question short, I'll just ask one question and anyone willing to help, please give me your e-mail, AIM, YIM, MSN or some way of me being able to contact you.

Are there any bi, gay, or lesbian columnists on this site because I'm having trouble and issues with coming out [I'm bi and 14/f] and I would really like your help on how to deal with things and what to do...

No offense or anything but if you're not out, you're obviously not going to be able to help me [unless your friend goes/went through the same thing]

Thanks very much!!! (link)
IM me and I'll help you out as best i can- Revenger1390. My name's Kat.

I was taking my usual ballet class...and while doing a split...I felt pain in *that* area. I'm 15 btw. I went to the bathroom to see what was going on...And I started to bleed...and was sore and that *area* hurt. But it wasn't my period. Because the time didn't come yet. Could it be possible that my cherry has "popped" un-sexually? (I haven't ever engaged in sex). Does this mean I'm not a virgin anymore? ;_; (link)
A lot of athletic girls may bleed from excercising like this. your "cherry" may have popped but it's pretty commonplace for dancers, gymnasts, and the like.
And you are still a virgin :)

okay this girl is talking about me behind my back and steeling my friends and all of that crap.
i need some good ideas for revenge. like stuff thats not obviouse that i did it. im already going to get a bunch of my friends from another school to send some hatemail over myspace and im thinking about creamcheese deoderant stuff.
any more ideas?
kaythanks (link)
"Let the one who seeks revenge remember to dig two graves"

Honestly, in my opinion, getting revenge on someone you hate is really just giving them too much of yourself. They don't even deserve your attention, and by spending your time thinking up ways to hurt them just shows them that you're really bothered. The best way to "get back" would be to refuse to give them any thought at all. Your time could be much better spent on yourself rather than on these jerks. Why pay them back with your precious attention?

Just posing a theory. Hope it all works out =]

-K

Ok well Im 13 & I have never kissed a guy. I really want my first kiss because I just want to know what its like. I had my chance to kiss a guy before because when I was going out with my boyfriend(i dumped him a couple days ago) he asked me for a kiss but I said no because there were to many people around.

Im not say that im ugly or a geek or something, because I have had plenty of boyfriends, we just have never been at the right place at the right time ya know?

But anyway is it weird that im 13 & I havent had my first kiss yet? (link)
Since you're only 13, you still have tons of time, and trust me, it'll happen when you're ready. Try not to rush into experimenting, because if you wait until that perfect moment, it'll mean so much more. I was 14 when I got my first kiss and even though it seemed a little late to me then, I realize now that even 14 is real young.

Just trust in the fact that your kiss will come when it means the most, and it's definatley worth waiting for.
