I guess you could say I love giving advice -
I'm an older sister, a tutor and a psych freak to boot! I always try to be honest and sincere. My school motto was "do unto others as you wish them to do unto you" and I really take that to heart. Any questions I'm capable of answering (love, relationships, general problems, cultural stuff about Thailand, bicultural issues, etc.), I will answer.

Why do you want to have sex if you're scared? I think that's a sign in and of itself. Maybe you should wait awhile more and see if you really, truly want to have sex...or if you're just using it for something else. Are you having any other problems in your life? Friends? Family? School? Fear is something evolutionary. It's a warning system. It keeps us out of trouble. Your fears about sex might be trying to tell you something. In the meantime, you might want to try masturbation. It can help you find out more about yourself as a sexual being, without any of the worries you'd have with actual sex.
Take care.

16/f, i wanna kno how i could masterbate, like how do u do it? (link)
|
Masturbation is a pretty personal thing. There's no handy manual that you can consult. That being said, there are plenty of websites you can consult that discuss the matter in a mature way. No doubt you'll gain some insight from them. As a woman, pleasuring yourself is slightly different than how a man would proceed. Usually though, it involves stimulation (through any means, manual or otherwise) of the clitoris, the small bud of flesh that is analogous to the tip of the male sex organ. It helps if you have lubrication, so you might want to relax yourself first and arouse yourself in whatever manner works for you. Remember to take it slow at first and build up speed. Stop if you feel uncomfortable (you don't have anyone to please but yourself!) and work with does feel comforting. It's healthy expression of your sexuality and helps you discover what works for you sexually.

So i gave my boyfriend a handjob and i got cum on my fingers but i washed it off and about 40 mins. later i masterbated and i got my period 4 days later and i read that even if you get your period you could still b pregant? do you think i am? (link)
|
Highly unlikely, given the washing and time between you getting his semen on your fingers and your masturbation time and the onset of your period. The sperm probably all died.

I know this is going to sound weird but what is the actuall birds and the bees story, like how does it get told?
Thanks :) (link)
|
The "birds and the bees" is just a polite way of saying "the sex talk". I'm not sure of its exact origins, but I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that sex is one of the few common denominators among all animals. Basically, telling someone about the birds and the bees is educating them about sex and pregnancy and all that stuff that goes along with it. As for how to tell someone about sex - well, that depends on an individual's style. My parents were very upfront about it all and added that it should most preferably be done with someone I cared about and safely (i.e. with birth control). They didn't say anything about actual birds and bees, though.

What are the odds somebody gets pregnant if you use a condom and shes on birth control? (link)

Significantly lowered, but not 0%. Always be careful.

what exactly is an orgasm and how do you know when you are having one? also are they hard to get or do they come easily during sex? (link)
|
An orgasm is the pinnacle of sexual activity and is the ultimate release of tension accumulated during the sex act. If people are to be believed, you'll *know* when you're having one, it's a bit hard to mistake. Your body will feel a massive release. And as for if they're hard to get, it depends on if you're male or female. For men, it's relatively easy. For a woman, though, it's slightly harder and takes a bit more work and effort. Researchers have speculated that vaginal stimulation alone is insufficient for a female orgasm (although that's not true in all cases) and that stimulating the clitoris (a small bud-like organ analogous to the tip of the male organ) is needed for orgasm. Also, it has been found that people who masturbate more often orgasm more easily - a case of practice making perfect.

My cousin has been masturbating since she was 3 years old. Is that normal? She is 17 now. (link)

It's perfectly natural. Children often touch themselves from an early age. It's very innocent, and mostly done out of curiousity more than anything else.

Iam an 18/f and i've been dating this guys for a couple of months and he asked me if I was a virgin and I said yes and he said he loved doing it with girls who wasn't experinced and I told him I would do it with him becouse I figured that was what he wanted.why would he want a girl who is unexperienced with sex? (link)
|
I know a lot of people don't think so nowadays, but your virginity *is* a big deal. You should save it to give to someone special - not just some guy you "figure" wants it and for what? Some guys get off on 'going where no man has gone before'. I don't think anyone just wants to be another conquest, another notch in someone's belt and that's what it sounds like he wants to me. Sex is the closest, most intimate thing you could ever do with another person. Don't let your first time be cheapened by a virgin-hunting jerk. Sorry to be so direct, but it sounds like you're being quite cavalier about it and I think that will be a regret later. Find a guy you love, who loves you back, if you really want to have sex. If not, just wait. Good luck.

my boyfriend james raped me a month ago and I think I may be pregnant and my mom will kick me out even if I was raped she's the type of person who thinks I could have done something about it I told my mom he raped me and she asked me how I could be so stupid to let something like that happen what should I do,Iam only 17 and my boyfriend is 19. (link)

Rape is a crime. Forget about everything for now except that you are the victim of a crime and your boyfriend is a criminal. It may have happened a month ago, but it is still a crime. Go to the police. File a police report. They will take you to be examined and you can find out if you are pregnant or not. I don't know your mother and I cannot guess her reaction, but what you should be worried about is you! Let the police and social services handle the rest. Go and get help, don't wait any longer. Don't be scared. It was not your fault and don't let anyone, ANYONE, tell you different. Rape may not be a crime like a mugging or a shooting, but it IS a crime. Go to the police. Take care of yourself if no one will.

i'm 15 years old & i haven't gotten my period for about two months. i've been having it since september 2004 & it's been sort of normal for about 8 months. i'm a virgin & i know this is going to sound extrememly juvenile but is there some way that i could be pregnant without having sex? as i said, i don't mean to sound juvenile but i've heard people say things like, "it's in the water" & is it actually possible? i'm just really nervous, & i'm racking my brain for an answer. could it just be that my period isn't on time? i haven't really been eating any differently. please don't treat me like an idiot, i'm just scared. (link)

Rest assured if you have not engaged in sexual activity of any sort (i.e. there's been no contact with a man's sexual organs) then you are NOT pregnant. It's physically impossible. As for that water thing, sperm can only last so long outside a human body (they need a specific temperature) and the journey they have to make is long and difficult and impossible outside of sexual intercourse (masturbation is fine; no way to get pregnant from it) I would encourage you to examine your life...Are you under any extreme stress? Are you on some sort of medication? Have you moved recently (especially to a different time zone that can affect your bodily cycles)? Things like this can change your cycle. But, from what you've said, it seems impossible that you could be pregnant. Don't be scared.

my penis is small in size please help me is the penis enlargement possible if yes how (link)
|
Size is relative. What may seem small to you may be just right for someone else or too small for others. It doesn't really affect sex that much, but if it's for self-esteem issues, you might consider consulting a health professional. I wouldn't try any "home remedies". The only enlargements I've heard of are of the snake oil variety which cause the penis to rot and fall off. So, talk to a professional and good luck.

i CANT tell my mom should i talk to my brother or my cuzin about it! they are both really close to me and they both tell me that if i have a question bout sumthing to talk to them and they can take me places and stuff (link)
|
that's fine - talk to your bro or coz. it helps to have some support. but if not, it's okay to go by yourself. if you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough to take responsibility for your own safety. it's your choice not to tell your mother; i respect that. but i totally agree with telling your brother or cousin.

well i am 14 can 14 year olds buy condoms? and where do i get birth control pills? (link)
|
Yes, 14 year olds can buy condoms. I don't know about where you are, but over here, they sell them in convenience stores, like 7-11. Just take it to the counter and pay. Or a drugstore/pharmacy, should have them. You can also ask them about birth control at the drugstore, but I suggest talking to a doctor first, a gynecologist. Go down to a clinic and talk to the gynecologist; just explain that you're sexually active and you'd like to start on birth control and what does he/she suggest? they might prescribe them or tell you what brand to buy or things like that. it's important to consult a doctor most of the time because you may have unknown allergies and you'll have someone to talk to if there are any side effects. They can also give you safe sex tips. Good luck.
|
is it absolutely 100% neccessary for a woman to go to a gynocologist at some point in her life? and what do they do, exactly?
(link)
|
Is it 100% absolutely necessary? If you're not sexually active, then no. However, it is recommended that women over the age of 20, sexually active or not, should go in for regular gynecological check-ups, especially a Pap smear, which detects abnormal cervical cells, which could help detect the early stages of cervical cancer. The gynecologist is basically a "women's diseases specialist". They're trained like regular medical doctors, but they emphasize women's common diseases. They can recommend birth control, answer any sexual questions you may have and offer pointers on keeping yourself healthy as a woman. If you are a virgin, tell your gyno - one of the things they do is perform an internal exam (ever see movies where there's a woman on a bed-like thing with stirrups? Those are used in an internal exam) and if you're a virgin (never had sex) it may be painful.

okay me and my boyfriend had sex the other night it was about 3days ago. But no sperm came out! and we didnt use protection! no sperm came out and he didnt go all the way in so i am not sure if i have a chance of bein pregant or if i am pregant or wat please help!!! (link)
|
All right, by sex, what exactly do you mean? Did he penetrate you? If there was penetration of any sort, even if he didn't get all the way in, there is a chance of pregnancy. And when you say, "no sperm came out", I'm not sure what you mean. Does that mean he didn't ejaculate? Please know that even without ejaculation, the male genitals release pre-ejaculatory fluids that contain a small number of sperm that CAN get your pregnant. So, from what you've said, there IS MOST DEFINITELY a chance that you could be pregnant. It doesn't mean you ARE pregnant, because it's never 100%, but there's a chance - there's ALWAYS a chance with unprotected sex, like you had, unless both or one of you are sterile. Don't panic. First of all, if you're feeling nervous, go out and buy three home pregnancy tests. Read the box - make sure their accuracy rates are somewhere in the high 90s - 95%-97% is acceptable. They don't have to be the same brand, but it would help. Take all three at about the same time. If more than one says you're pregnant, you're most likely pregnant. If only says it, go out and buy another few and test again. Pregnancy tests are not 100% accurate and the more you take, the higher the chances are that your results are accurate. If you're uncertain, consult a health professional. I wish you luck and for next time, consider going on the birth control pill or buying some condoms. This will save you from future headaches.

condom packages always say that they are like 99% effective if used correctly and stuff, but in school we learned that since condoms are latex like balloons, they have tiny holes in them that sperm can swim through. wtf. how effictive is that? (link)
|
First of all, any birth control of the non-pill variety is NEVER 99% effective, even when used perfectly (which they almost never are). This includes condoms - whoever told you that condoms are 99% effective or somewhere along those lines was greatly exaggerating. Secondly, yes, condoms are latex, but the pores or microscopic holes in condoms are much too small for viruses, bacteria or sperm to pass through - making condoms one of the only forms of birth control that also prevents STDs, sexually transmitted diseases. (i don't think balloons are made of latex either, but don't quote me on that) so latex is a perfectly safe and logical choice for condoms; if you don't think so, look around the doctor's office on your next check-up - what material are his/her gloves made of? that's right - latex, because it's flexible, comfortable and keeps out a variety of disease-causing agents without costing too much. that being said, what makes condoms useless in almost all respects is misuse. never use an oil-based lubricant with condoms - the oil will punch holes in the condom that will make the pores large enough for sperm and STD agents such as HIV. never use an old condom or one kept in a hot, exposed place for a long period of time or one that's torn. a combination of spermicide and an condom increases a condom's power to guard against pregnancy, but not STDs. if unsure, consult this website http://www.avert.org/usecond.htm or a health professional. the best prevention of all is still good old abstinence. hope this has answered your question.

ok so i hear if you take test and it comes out positive, there is still a chance it can be wrong and your really not pregnant. i also hear if it comes out negative..it can be inacurate as well and you really could be pregnant..therefore how is taking a pregnancy test a good indicator if your pregnant or not? are you supposed to take like 4 in a row and see whatever answer comes out the most?
little confused
thanks (link)
|
Most pregnancy tests print a margin of error on the box or somewhere in the instructions. For instance, it might say something like, "97% accurate", meaning that 97 times out 100, if it's positive, you're pregnant. The margin of error is usually very small, and it's put there because so many things can affect the chemicals used to test for pregnancy - the test may be defective, you might have used it wrong etc. The home pregnancy test is not meant to be a definitive indicator of pregnancy; only a medical check-up is, but some people would like to get a small idea first whether they're expecting or not in the privacy and comfort of their own home. As for whether you should take 4 in a row or not, I say, why not? Although 2 would probably be okay, but statistically speaking, if you take four tests and they're all positive, it's very likely you're pregnant - much more likely than if you only take one. Think of it like the lottery - the more tickets you have, the more chance you have of winning. In this case, the more you take, the more you eliminate the chance that you have a false positive or a false negative. I hope that answers your question.

the following is something i found on another website..im asking this question becausee the same thing happened to me. in the answer, the person menitoned how the liklness goes down after more time passes..what about 10 minutes? and is this persons answer entirely correct? and guys, you dont jizz on your hands right? i mean why would you?
Me and my bf were messing around and he ejaculated. A bit after this, he was fingering me and I'm just wondering, is there any possible way sperm could be on his hands and enter my vagina in this way to cause me to get pregnant?
- warpedo, 15, female from
[bio's comment: Yep, especially if he got ejaculate on his hands and fingered you immediately afterwards. The risk goes down the more time there is between the two activities, but it's not entirely impossible to get pregnant that way.]

It's quite possible. Sperm are very hardy and they can survive for a long while, especially in the female body. It's probably safer to be on birth control before engaging in any sexual activity, even ones with a very low chance of pregnancy. Better safe than sorry.

what exactly is a condom ,where do u put it, do girls where them, and what do they do? is there a certain age to buy them? (link)
|
A condom is a specific type of birth control in the barrier method category. It looks like an elongated balloon and may or may not be lubricated. It is very thin and fits snugly over the male genitalia (the penis). It prevents sperm from entering the female partner and is the only form of birth control that protects against certain types of sexually transmitted diseases (only with perfect use and even then, not 100%). Girls do not wear condoms, although they have not introduced the female condom that is used much like a diaphragm and is inserted like a tampon. There is no certain age to buy them; use them when you are sexually active to prevent pregnancy and STDS, but remember, they are never 100% effective, even if you use them perfectly. Do not use lubricants on them without consulting a professional; some lubricants punch holes in the latex, making them useless. A combination of condoms and birth controls pills is the best bet to prevent pregnancy, but not STDS. Abstinence (not having sex) is the only perfect solution to preventing pregnancy and STDs.
