in the winter, or in cold weather my hair gets full of static. this only happens once i straighten it though, and i straighten it a lot. so what can i do to reduce the amount of static in my hair? are there any products i can use?

i've heard of using dryer sheets, but can't that be bad for your hair?

thanks so much!

Actually, the dryer sheets work out perfectly. & it shouldn't be bad for your hair.

i have a guy friend who wants me to dye his hair for him. i just don't know is it ok to just use one of those boxes that are like meant for girls? or are there specific dyes that you are supposed to use for guys hair? thanks!

It shouldn't matter. But they do sell hair dye for women AND men. :)

what are some stores that you can buy like plain black sweat pants at
or like any color.

im 14/f and i want to wear them over like sports pants after a soccer game just plain ones with nothing on it.

Wet Seal! Their prices are definitely reasonable. & I got some for about $12 there. :)

my uniform for school is cacki pants and a white polo. i dont wanna wear sneakers with it .. i wanna wear flats, like moccasins or something. does that look good? and where could I get some flats at a good price that are cute, and a nuetral color, like brown or black. thanks in advance

Yeah, that should look fine. Try Target, Charlotte Russe, Payless, or Bakers [I know I saw some on sale last week for about $10-20.]

i always seem to get the wrong shade of foundation for my face. The products I buy are always either too light or too dark. Can someone please tell me what shade to buy and can anyone recommend a good foundation for me? Heres what I look like: http://img214.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc01340oz7.jpg

Hmm.. it's hard to tell with the lighting. But definitely go for L'Oreal Ideal Balance foundation. I've tried just about every brand out there & felt like this type of foundation works the best & is still affordable [about $10-$11 at Walgreens.] I'm somewhat on the fair side [atleast at the moment] & I use Soft Beige. Go to the store & test a shade or two darker [than Soft Beige] on your skin. & I think it might work for you. But like I said, it's hard to say for sure since the picture isn't that bright enough. Hope I helped. :)

I really want to get my cartiledge peirced. I've asked my mom about it and she said I could get it done, but it hurts like a mother for a long time. (Then again she did it herself when she was 17.) Which one do you think is better to use a shot gun (you can just get done with it), or a needle (this way you won't have all the pain at once, but it will take longer)? I know either way it will hurt but how much? My mom also told me a piece of your cartiledge comes out, is that true? If I do do it then I will go to a real place, not somewhere like Claire's.
Any help is appreciated!

Well I've never had my cartilage done, but I've had plenty of friends tell me stories. All of them have said it hurts & you will here a popping noise from the needle going through. You should NEVER consider going with a gun. It's very unsafe & the likeliness of an infection or something going wrong is high. Get it done right the first time; there's no way around the pain. You'll feel something - you might as well stick with the safe way.

You answered that. Can you tell me WHY they dye your hair before they cut it, if you're getting it done at a salon... Doesn't that seem like a waste of dye?

If you were dying your hair from a box kit, would you dye before or after your salon cut? And they don't have to be on the same day.

Wasting dye isn't really the issue. I know that you're not supposed to wash your hair 24 hours before getting your hair dyed because you need your natural oils for best results. Most salons wash or wet your hair before cutting it. If you cut your hair before you dyed it, your hair would still be wet & you can't apply dye unless it's dry. I think the order is probably just more convenient for the hairdresser. I'm sure there's probably other reasons [quite possibly involving the ends of your hair], but I wouldn't know.

If you're doing it on two seperate days, then no it doesn't matter which you do first. Personally, I'd still dye it & then cut it. Probably just because I'm used to doing it that way.

Hi Hannah!! Question, please:

Do you have your ears pierced? How many times? Where are they? Did it hurt? How much did it cost? And can you suggest a place, or type of place, to get them done, please?

I'm thinking of getting mine done. I don't have any, as it stands, but I'm thinking of getting each lobe, and one in each cartilidge. Not at the same time, though, I'm sure.

Any help? (=

Yeah, twice in each ear - lower lobe. I got them done like 7 years ago, so I don't remember too much. I know they did hurt a bit, but it was only for a few seconds & it wasn't unbarable. Umm I think it cost like $30-$35 & that included the earrings & cleaning stuff. Don't go to Claires or the Icing. Especially for cartilage!! Look around your area for a piercing place & make sure that wherever you go they use a needle & NOT a gun. Hope that helped! :)

Have have think brown hair, and when i straighten it and go outside ((anywhere even if it is low humidity)) it frizzes up and goes curly. Is there something i can use so it doesn't get this way?

Apply S-Fact Dream Drop after straightening your hair. It's about $30-$35, but definitely worth it.

If that's too pricey, try using any Matrix sleek frizz-free products before you blowdry/airdry your hair. Using both of the above products actually works wonders.

Make sure your hair is completely dry before straightening & try using a medium heat setting so you don't fry or dry out your hair.

I am getting my hair cut and styled at a salon next week. I also want to dye my hair from a home kit.

Should I dye my hair, and then a few days later go to the salon for the cut, or should I go to the salon for the cut, and a few days later dye it at home?

Which is best, and what risks would I run if I don't do this properly - if any?

You'll have to dye your hair first before getting it cut..IF you're getting your hair dyed the same day as the cut. If not, the order doesn't matter.

Likeomg. You're gonna meet different people everywhere you go. Get used to it & accept the fact everyone around you doesn't wear the same brand. & quit making such ridiculous stereotypes. Please tell me this question is a joke.

I have gotten so many comments on how big my eyes look. I don't really know if this is a good or bad thing....but i would kinda like ur guy's opinion. Also, Is it because i wear eyeliner??? will that make it look bigger? some people say it makes their eyes look smaller...but i dunno. I use a dark brown eyeliner and i only do the bottom...not the top. (i have fair skin too)

I would consider it to be a compliment. Yes, wearing eyeliner can give that effect depending on how you wear it. Surprisingly, applying eyeliner on the top can make your eyes look smaller. But I suppose it depends the thickness & what color eyeshadow you use.

Can I ask wht lip gloss you have on in your picture? It's adorable.

Actually I don't wear lipgloss. I usually just wear Mary Kay lip balm which is pretty much colorless. Sometimes I also use a small, small dab of my liquid foundation to lighten my lips up. I know, I'm kinda weird. :)

How can I make my hair less frizzy? Like more smooth and shiny? Thanks!!

First you'll need a good moisterizing shampoo & conditioner. Try anything by John Frieda or Bedhead. (Both wonderful products.) Before you blowdry (or let it dry naturally) apply a moisterizing balm by Matrix. This should help get rid of the frizz. After your hair is done drying, drop some S-Factor Dream Drops in her hand(about the size of a nickel) & run it through your hair, especially near the ends. This product will help with the smoothness & any other frizz. (If you straighten or curl your hair, be sure to apply the S-Factor Dream Drops in before.) Hope I helped :)

This is going to sound really daft to most people so I apologise but I don't know how to properly apply eyeliner, so I was hoping someone might be good enough as to explain it to me?

I also need to know whether liquid or pencil eyeliner is better and what colours are best for me if I have brown hair and wide brown eyes?

Thank you to anyone who helps!

I'd stick with pencil eyeliner. Most liquid eyeliner brands just get everywhere & smudge too much to where you have to redo it all just to fix it. If you want something less dramatic and a little more natural looking than black, go with a gray or brown.

Try to apply the eyeliner as close as to the inside of your eye so it looks more defined & natural. I think it looks good when the line is thicker near the outside of your eye & goes thinner as it goes in (towards your nose). If it's all one thickness, it kinda looks bad. But I guess it depends on how well you do it & the shape of your eyes.

If you want your eyes to look smaller, but more defined, apply a thin line at the top of your eye (close to where your top eye lashes).

Most eyeliners come with some kind of smoother on the other end. That's good for going over your eyeliner & smoothing it.

Where can you buy skinny jeans?

You should be able to find them at just about every store at the mall. Forever 21 & Wet Seal should have them.

Hi, I am looking for big heart lockets. I don't like the hearts to be small, preferably around this size -

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f334/yaaah222/ashtiflaptop.jpg

That heart is just a litttlee bigger then what I would want, but you get the point, I want a big heart. Can anyone give me some sites/names of stores where I can get one of those? Thank you so much!

James Avery is really nice. I don't think most states have it, but just go online & order from there. You should be able to customize everything on how you want it if you don't find something you like. I used to go there when I lived in Texas, but now that I've moved & don't have one in my state, I still order jewelry from them (online) quite frequently. It's more expensive than Forever 21 & Wet Seal, but that's because the quality is much better & it's more of a higher class jewelry store.

I have dark brown eyes and i wear black eyeliner but i dont think its enough. does anyone have any ideas on what makeup i should wear like eye shadow or anything? thanks in advance.

Try mascara & a goldish-brown eyeshadow. And if that's not enough, try applying black eyeliner on top too.
