You answered that. Can you tell me WHY they dye your hair before they cut it, if you're getting it done at a salon... Doesn't that seem like a waste of dye?
If you were dying your hair from a box kit, would you dye before or after your salon cut? And they don't have to be on the same day.

I know that you're not supposed to wash your hair 24 hours before getting your hair dyed because you need your natural oils for best results. Most salons wash or wet your hair before cutting it. If you cut your hair before you dyed it, your hair would still be wet & you can't apply dye unless it's dry. I think the order is probably just more convenient for the hairdresser. I'm sure there's probably other reasons [quite possibly involving the ends of your hair], but I wouldn't know.
If you're doing it on two seperate days, then no it doesn't matter which you do first. Personally, I'd still dye it & then cut it. Probably just because I'm used to doing it that way. [ hannahd's advice column | Ask hannahd A Question ]
