about

re-lo.
I am a blunt, cynical, nerdy nymphomaniac, incapable of shutting my mouth (partially due to chromosomal content). On several past occasions, I've managed to convince someone that my IQ was larger than my breast size, but my general intelligence and comprehension capabilities waver somewhere between a waffle cone and a gerbil.
I know nothing about everything, in stark contrast to poncy intellectuals everywhere, but I can maintain a pleasant facade of knowledge in these categories: alternative lifestyles, (alternative) sexuality and culture, embarrassing nuances of human behavior, grammar, dorkiness, makeup (I wear a shit ton), ancient cultures, art, mental illnesses, body modification.

Hey..
I just lost my friend to a shooting incident and lately I've been having dreams about her.. like really horrible dreams.
like the other night i had a dream that we were just hanging out and then all of a sudden she pulled out a gun and shot herself in the head.. is there any way to stop haiving these dreams?
also..my mom woke me up after one of the dreams and i starting cursing at her. i didnt mean to i was really upset..and im grounded for a month. i dont like i should be grounded that long. do you agree? should i say something to her about it?
sorry so long. thanks..

Sounds like you could be suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. I strongly suggest you see a psychologist or speak with someone capable of counseling you through your shock effectively. I had a friend suffering from PTSS for whom counseling made a huge difference.

Jesus, I just got back from the Spelling bee. I had been studying like a fiend the night before (From 4:00pm-10:00pm), I had the whole Paideia memorized, and I was almost sure that I would be headed for Washington D.C. in a few months. OMG! GODDAMNIT! It was the first round, and they gave me a really easy word, and I completely forgot the word. The word was "notary." Isn't that an easy word? I bet everyone here can spell that word. I just blanked out on that word and forgot. They rang a little bell, and that signified that I was the 4th person out on the 1st round. I suddenly remembered how to spell the word when they rang the bell, but it was too late. I lost.

All of that hard work----flushed down the toilet. If it weren't for that stupid word, I know I could have won. I have never lost a spelling bee in my life. I need to talk.

Anyone who at least tries to make me feel better gets a 5

When I was about 12, almost the same age you are, I lived in Montana. I had also not lost a spelling bee in my life. Spelling was my THING, and that year I entered my town's spelling bee and won, and my county's, and I ended up going to state. I made it all the way to the final round, and I was one of four people left, despite the fact that people were mouthing the answers in the audience, which was pretty lame. The guy who pronounced the words had a very odd accent, and sometimes I have this weird mental dyslexia in which I hear or see something completely differently than it is, like a letter or a word. Anyway, the man pronounced the word, and I had NOT A DAMN CLUE what it was. I used all the chances they give you (like asking the root of the word, etc.) and ended up spelling a COMPLETELY different word. My mom and I had driven 6 hours to get there, and I fucked up in the last round. The shitty thing was that I could spell every other word, including the one that won the spelling bee. I hope THAT makes you feel better. ;)

p.s. To this day, I can't remember what word it was.

I'm 16/f and I was talking to one of my guys friends today and about guys that like me but wouldn't date me. He said that I sometimes intimidate guys because I'm cocky and I make fun of people. I don't randomly make fun of people but just my friends like crack jokes about them and stuff. They do it right back to me and don't care so it isn't like mean or anything, just fun/funny. And yeah, I can be a little on the cocky side sometimes but most of it is just confidence; only like .000007% of me comes of as well...conceded.

So my question is guys, do girls like that intimidate you? Because personally, I think if you are intimidate by a girl like that then you're a pussy and I wouldn't want to date you anyways. Or is it just insecure high school boys?

You shouldn't have to change your personality for any boy. Not only will you end up hating yourself because you're fake, but the boys that'll be attracted to you won't be attracted to the "real" you, just a shallow image, which is pretty stupid. Boys are "intimidated" by confident (which you sound like, NOT conceited) girls because at this stage in their life they're really insecure. So anything that threatens to deflate their egos and turn them into little boys again makes them scared. They'll grow out of it. Every boy I know would rather date a mature, emotionally strong, confident girl than someone who has no spine or personality. p.s. that's CREEPY.

my teacher is makin everyone do an extemporaneous speech which is just a regular speech but u only git 24 hours to prepare for it and you have to answer a question. my question is which sex is more responsible for birth control. i need everyones opinions so tell me what you think and why you think that. i rate high cuz this is obviously easy. thnx in advance.

It SHOULD be both. You really should mention that. Birth control's not really available for boys, except condoms, but they should consistently carry those if they're having sex. Condoms only have a slightly greater risk of pregnancy than birth control. Girls supposedly have the greater access to birth control, but also the greater risk of either misusing it, whether intentionally (to get pregnant, etc.) or unintentionally (forgot pill, etc). Girls also have a greater chance of health risks from the birth control than guys do. I really believe that boys and girls should have access constantly, should they choose to have sex, to methods of birth control they are able to use (condoms) or are already using (birth control). Then there's the social stigma of birth control; example: if a guy carries around a condom, he's a stud. If a girl does, she's a slut. In many cases, it's easier and less time and money-consuming for the boy to procure birth control like condoms. I don't know about you, but when I was a teenager, it was impossible to leave the house without telling parents where I was going (if I wanted to go to Planned Parenthood), whereas a boy could probably say he's going to the drugstore or gas station and be fine. Not to mention the fact that a girl couldn't really go to a family doctor without parents finding out (I know it's not legal, but it happens) and many girls that have sex won't go get birth control because you need to have a pelvic exam and that's a terrifying experience to them. I don't know. I say boys. It's much easier for them to get it than girls (unless the girls have really lenient parents), much easier to carry and remember it (anyone ever missed a pill?) and frankly, they're much more likely to use it. Most of the teenage girls I talked to are for some reason reluctant to keep condoms around or insist that a guy use them. Don't want to spoil the mood or something? On the other hand, a guy can carry around a condom (although he shouldn't for long periods) and it's RIGHT THERE when he's going to have sex. And then there's the empty place in his wallet he can show his friends. Yeah, he had sex with her. Protected sex. I really, honestly think that boys are at least half responsible for the birth control pill and doctor appointment cost if girls are taking them. Yes, we get pregnant easily, but not without the boy's help, you know? Look, I'm not saying girls shouldn't also be responsible. But, having been a teenage girl myself, I seriously would've loved for the stress of birth control to be a shared one, or sometimes not on my head at all. I dunno. We've taught our sons to be respectful toward women in every way. I think sexual health should include that respect.

I'm only sixteen and I have massive, dark bags under my eyes. And even when I get enough sleep, they're still there. Is there anything natural (in exception to things like plastic surgery) I can do to make the circles go away or hide them?

Thank you very much.

Can't go wrong with makeup. Just don't put so much on it looks cakey. I swear people will look at you funny more often if you're wearing too much makeup than too little. Please remember that the area under the eyes is naturally slightly darker. So don't use too light of foundation. Dark circles + concealer generally = a "grey" skin tone under the eyes, so don't be afraid to mix a little bit of bronzer or something peachy-pink in. You won't need a lot. And unless you want the "fresh zombie" look, please, please, I don't care what makeup brands say, stay away from that yellow concealer stuff that's supposed to work. It very much does not. Finally, remember to blend the area between the undereye makeup and your normal skin really, really well or you might look like you were in the tanning booth for too long. Trust me on all of this (from experience). luck!

If a white person called a black person a "nigga" on the computer, is this some sort of discrimination, could that person get in any kind of trouble or anything like that?
Thank you.

Totally. It's a stupid thing for anyone to call anyone. It's in the same category as calling something "gay." The intent is harmless, but the connotation isn't.
